Not all Goldilocks are created equal. They got 100 plus stores all over the country and some simply sell what they are known for, cakes and other sweets. This branch in Megamall operates a full dining experience, as they serve ‘lutong bahay’ Filipino food that changes everyday. On this solo trip, I had a small meal that started with clear based soup, Bangus Belly Sinigang. I liked how this was only Php 95 with a cup of rice, it had ample serving of meat and fresh native vegetables. I also enjoyed my Fresh Lumpia (Php 55) with its delicious sweet and strong garlicky thick sauce. Their dessert, Cathedral (Php 100), on the other hand, was a disappointment, as its gelatin features was too tough, decreasing its signature creamy texture.

Masarap ang Pinoy foods dito pero minsan ang bagal ng service. Sulit naman kumain dito at super tasty talaga nung Lumpiang Sariwa at Sinigang nila.

Grilled Chops with Golden Garlic Rice was simple and flavorful with a fair serving of meat and less fat. They gave a lot of rice and it was really, really hot! This dish was no-frills n' all good, plus the wait time wasn't so bad.

Goldilucks is known for its popular cakes and pastries. But little does everyone knows they also serve delicious and affordable Filipino food. They have 2stores in megamall both serving lunch and dinner. The one on the 3rd floor is more spacious. What i didn't like about them is that sometimes they have limited number of dishes to choose. They always run out of dishes. :-D

Aside from cakes for all occasions, Goldilocks is tips when it comes to Filipino food. I so love their pork barbecue. The hefty cuts of meat comes with very little fat. Each one is tender and juicy with a perfect smoky taste. My next favorite would be rellenong bangus. Beneath the golden crispy skin is moist meat mixed with vegetables. I also tried their crunchy fried chicken and kare-kare. How I wish that the kare-kare sauce was less sweet and more nutty in flavor though. The oreo, mango salted caramel and rainbow cakes tasted heavenly.

Was early for my passport renewal yesterday, so I had some snacks - wow snacks daw haha I tried the palabok and sweet & sour meatballs. I enjoyed the former more since it had the right balance of flavors. The meatballs were more of sour, but tolerable. Wish I ordered rice since there was a lot of sweet and sour sauce.  Ordered these ala carte, so they're kind of expensive.

Whenever I want a heavy meal that's also affordable and of course good ol' Filipino food, I go to Goldilocks.I was craving for caldereta so I stopped at Goldilocks and ordered Caldereta ala Carte for only ₱125, as well as their iced matcha drink for ₱50.The matcha drink was just ok, it was similar to the instant matcha powdered drinks that I make at home. The caldereta was good and I liked that the vegetables had been fried and separated from the beef stew until they were served together in one platter. The chunks of beef were tender and they were a lot more than I could expect. But the rice servings were too measly. If you're dining on a strict budget, I guess bring your own extra rice when you dine at Goldilocks. Especially if you order caldereta. Hahaha. 😄😄😄

I ate dinner here with my husband. We got the Kare-Kare and Sweet & Sour Meatballs. We saw the Tuna Pie and got curious as I saw great reviews online so we got the last one available. We ate the Tuna Pie first. It's baked unlike the one from Jollibee so the crust was softer. But the filling was dry and not cheesy as compared to the one from Jollibee. The meals were served later on. What I like with their Kare-kare is the peanut sauce. They put more tripe than meat in it and they were more on the tough side. The place was a bit unkempt- tables were not cleaned right away and the floors weren't mopped. And be extra mindful with your stuff. We stayed there for less than an hour and there were three people who went inside and solicited money from the diners.

I came here last week during my holiday in manila. The food is delicious, that's why many people come here to eat, and it made the queue quite long. The price is not expensive and reasonable.
