The nachos we ordered has a "bangaw" lurking in! I immediately called the nearest waitress and pointed it, she saw and immediately went to the kitchen's window and the cook replaced it. Next, the waitress didn't even give any apology on the matter, what a service! But the soft tacos we ordered are awesome, less the nachos of course! Sad experience indeed!

We wanted to have lunch in our area but didn’t want to go to our usual haunts, so we drove around until we stumbled upon this Mexican cantina in the late afternoon. First research indicates that it is from the same family as Mexicali/El Chupacabra but we detracted from any more research as we’re trying to practice “discovery” lately. Basically, no prior research and letting our curiosity dictate our food choices, etc. It’s a lot of fun actually, you should try it yourselves! We ordered the following:SISIG BURRITO WET MISSION STYLE Basically their lean-style pork sisig with rice in a tortilla, covered in enchilada, white (sour cream?), and cheese sauce. This was really good and that’s saying something for someone who actually doesn’t enjoy burritos! CARNITAS STREET TACOI really like the flavour on this one. I always end up with spicy or confused carnitas at other places but this one was straight up roasted pork goodnessHORCHATAWe both kept saying that it had the familiar but new taste, it’s really hard to explain but we enjoyed the level of cinnamon in this drink. Refreshing!GRILLED PORK EAR, GRILLED BEEF HEART GRILLED PORK SKEWERAll three had the same “inihaw” initial taste but different finishes and textures. The beef heart had a real deep meaty flavour and didn’t even taste like offal. The pork skewer really did taste like shawarma so you know they used a lot of Middle Eastern herbs and spices, similar to a kebab in one of those Persian places. Didn’t like the pork ear because it wasn’t crispy enough.Overall: We enjoyed ourselves though service needs to step up more. There were at least 2 servers sleeping in neighbouring tables. The server who handled us never smiled and didn’t really know how to suggest what dishes to get. It’s also really hard to call their attention. I hope management addresses this so that they could provide better service. They’re a lot better than Silantro in my book when talking Mexican in the area.

we had quick dinner at this place before basketball last night. El Hijo is a restaurant idea and setup from the mexicali group. This El hijo setup moved away from the fastfood feel (mexicali) onto the restobar setup! mexican food, especially their street tacos, actually go very well with alcohol!the place is nicely decorated in a latin mexican feel. I tried their burrito this time (I tried street tacos at their makati el chupacabra resto. mexicali is still number 1 in mexican food in the philippines. they might not be the most authentic but they are really the best in my opinion. They must have figured out the perfect mexican recipes with filipino taste twists.

Food is good, service is fast and great, ambiance is nice. Pretty generous with the food servings, kinda reminds me of Silantro (sorry for this, El Hijo). Additional salsa sauce is kinda pricey for 40pesos, but tastes great! This'll be one place I'll add to my places to hangout, definitely.P.S. Please bring back Brew Kettle to your list of available beers.

🐽 Food: We ordered so much! Boneless chicken skewers, soft shell tacos, burrito, pork bbq skewers and orejas. The only meal I didn't enjoy was the orejas (personally not a fan of this exotic food). But everything else were superb!🍹 Drinks: I ordered the strawberry shake. Fresh! They should replace their straw with plastic cause the paper kind gets destroyed easily.🍴Ambiance: Very casual. It was a bit warm when we went. They should higher their aircon temperature. 👫 Service: Food was served on time. Servers need to be a bit more attentive though. 💸 Price: Cheap, very affordable!
