#latepostI find it fascinating how Manila became such an interesting place for websites. Gone are the days where we’re stuck with just Jollibee, McDonald’s, Max’s, or Goldilocks as choices for afternoon snacks. Today, some people hate being asked, “Where do we eat?” as the choices are endless! (And websites like me get grumpy when you choose an establishment I have already visited.) I am so fortunate though to live near some website hotspots. And with the malls bringing in more and more restaurants and whatnot, I get to try more dishes without traveling too far. And last weekend, I spotted Dolce Latte.Hello, Dolce Latte!I’ve heard of this place during the peak of the Cronut™ craze. I heard that Dolce Latte offers the best Cronuts™ in Manila (though some say that Wildflour deserves the title). However, I never got the chance to visit the place because the store’s located in Quezon City. It’s not exactly my territory and the only places I visit when I’m around the area are Teachers Village, Katipunan, UP, or White Plains. But here we are, a year later and I finally get to visit Dolce Latte.

Got their valrhona chocolate drink and it was thick and rich. I think I could have enjoyed it more if I stayed longer. Must try other drinks next time.

Ordered Pizza, Tea, Soup and Pastries. Food is yummy, love the ambiance (OMG), good service but it's a tad pricey. But hey, you get what you pay for. Premium food, service, ambiance and price.

Perfect for afternoon snack or tea time whatever you call it. Ambience is nice and not too rowdy unlike other similar cafe. Purple Yam Cheescake + Freshly Brewed Tea = Heaven.

Tired of the same overpriced and burnt tasting coffees served at the big international coffee shops? Want something that is very fresh tasting and reasonably priced? Dolcelatte is the place to be. Modern warm environment and a very attentive staff and delicious pastry and menu items, great place to chill after a long day of shopping at the Mall.

Came here with my brother to explore other food finds in Megamall. We tried the Shakeratto and the Mocha Frappe. I like how rich the Shakeratto was with the coffee flavor and how creamy it was at the same time. The frappe however, had an odd aftertaste to it(could be from the Valrhona or the almond extract they had. I'm not so sure). We also had the Dolcelatte Cheesecake. I loved how rich and light the cake was, but the base was inconsistent in flavor. Some parts of it were bitter, others were just subtle. Hoping I could try their food menu soon.

Got to try Dolcelatte for coffee and desserts. It's in a less crowded area of Megamall Fashion Hall so it's a good place to chill and hang out. They have a good selection of cakes that would have a price range of reasonable (Php110) to expensive (Php345, I think).I got to try the Earl Grey Tea Cake which was pretty good especially with coffee. A favorite was the Dark Valrhona Crunch which I just can't get enough of.Their cronuts were pretty good but I think cronuts have rode out its fad. But it's a good combo with the shakes.

It's nice to have an afternoon coffee and snacks here. Not really meant for lunch but for afternoon coffee and snack only. I like the cookies here

Dolce Latte have been trademarked as the first one to launch a Croughnuts in Manila. It opened its first branch along Q. Avenue, beside Hi-Top supermarket where I often go to. I would always passby it because of the parking space and a brown tinted glass that looks dark from the outside. When I checked the menu, I was surprised that they're not just a cake & coffee shop type of cafe, more of a brunch type of cafe where they serve full meals. I was privileged to be invited to their Valentine's menu tasting. So they will have this offereing for 3 days only.Truffle Cream Soup was a chopped shiitake mushrooms mounded in the middle of the bowl, then the cream soup was poured right after serving. The mushroom soup was flavored with truffle oil and not the fresh one was used. And that would be a waste to puree a fresh black/white truffle. The cream soup was thick and creamy like the way I like it. The truffle aroma is a bit strong that produces a gaseous feel to it. If they would lessen it abit would be perfect.Roast Beef Vegetable Terrine was a combination of grilled vegetables and beef on top with gelatine to hold everything. I like the idea of the freshness of flavor of this dish. It's simple and delicious. There are purple potato, pumpkin, and brocolli dots on the plate that gave it a nice presentation.Scallops and Asparagus Risotto. The risotto was cooked al dente, but a bit more bite and butter to finish would be better for me. It just lacks the salty, buttery taste. The scallops was tender and sweet, the asparagus was perfectly crunchy and the concasse gave it a nice sour-acidity to it. I like how they contructed the flavor combination and texture for this dish. Goat Cheese & Lamb Ravioli. The goat cheese ravioli has a tinge of sourness inside the ravioli which i dislike. The lamb ragout has a stong, pungent aroma for me. It would be better if they would put the lamb ragout inside the ravioli to balance everything.Pork Belly with Berry Sauce. The pork belly was perfectly cooked. The meat was literally fall off the bone. You'll know that its slow roasted in the oven. The berry sauce was superb, a winey-fruity notes that complimented the pork. The inside of the pork was underseason and the skin wasn't crisp as how it looked like when it was served. It's rubbery.Mahi Mahi with Casuliflower and Peanut Sauce & Seasoned Oysters. The mahi mahi fillet was cooked perfectly. The firm, sweet meat of the mahi mahi was the star of the show. However, the sauce doesn't paired well with the dish. The sauce tasted like a peanut butter sauce of kare kare, only lighter in flavor and color. The seasoned oysters was a fail to me. It was marinated in wine that gave this dish a sour effect.Beef Tenderloin with Bone Marrow Gravy. The beef was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The gravy was rich and flavorful that gave the old, boring tenderloin its body (flavor). The truffled mashed potato was excellent. Smooth creamy mashed potato with a strong earthy, umami finish.Deconstructed Tiramisu was pleasant to the eyes. You would pour in the espresso to the plate so that the sponge can absorb all the coffee to make it a tiramisu. All the flavors were present, mascarpone cream, fresh fruits, chocolate plate, sponge, and teh espresso. The espresso was too strong for the sponge that made it bitter. Nonetheless the concept, execution, and flavor was excellent.Chocolate Bomb? The chocolate dessert where they pour warm milk to melt the shell and reveal the whipped mouse and fresh fruits inside. This was the perfect ending for a valentine's dinner date. An exhibition of art.Overall, the adventure from plate to plate was superb. The plating and garnishes was excellently done. The only concern for me is taht some of the flavors doesn't really match (mahimahi and peanut butter) and some of the execution is a fail (gummy, crackled pork skin). It's one thing to eat with your eyes, another thing to have it how your eyes and mind preceive it.#TheFoodCrawlers

Just across Lucca is a restaurant that's quite similar with them, Dolcelatte. They got 'real' food and a tons of sweet stuff. Tip. They got a variety of Salmon dishes. Have it, it's worth the trip here. We also enjoyed the chocolate Cronut. It had a crispy chocolate on top and the smooth ones inside.
Dolcelatte is located at Fifth Floor, Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City. This is a Seafood restaurant near the SM Megamall. This restaurant is very popular and has a good reputation. Many food bloggers also visit this restaurant to make mukbang.
