Wow! They’ve expanded! Not only their store, but their menu! Now i can sit down while eating my cupcake! And have a cold drink! Choco-mint for the win!

Today, my friend and I crave for some sweets. Both of us have a sweet tooth so we decided to try Cupcakes by Sonja at SM Mega Fashion Hall. They both have a kiosk and a physical store where you can sit and try their cakes.What I like?1. CakeThe cake itself is really good. Their chocolate cake is very moist and it has a rich chocolaty icing. I personally tried it so as their lemon berry. The chiffon is perfect and I really like the flavor and mixture of lemon and blueberry icing in between.2. StaffThe staff is really nice and he is very accommodating.What I do not like?1. PriceThe price is not just right for the slice of the cake. Though I do love the flavor but I think it should be cheaper by 20%.2. PlaceHonestly, I find the place really messy. The floor is not even clean. I do not really understand the concept of the store. The chairs and tables do not really complement each other.

This is our first time to visit this one, a kiosk hiding below the escalator with a few tables for dine ins. The chocolate cake is superb! Close enough to Ms. Polly’s, actually. Rainbow cake is a meh. It just looks good. That’s it! 😅 Also, we don’t think we’ll be coming back here ‘coz of their customer service. It was around 8:15 (still so far from their closing time) and someone’s already cleaning the floor using clorox. Of course, resulting us leaving already as the smell starts bothering. 😭 We understand the staffs might have wanted to prepare for closing already but this one’s just unacceptable.Value for money: Worth it for the promo. Will try their other branch should there be a next time.

The first time I had a cupcake from Cupcakes by Sonja, I couldn't understand the hype. Sure, the packaging is pretty and the cake is moist, and the size is okay, but what else? I found the answer in their cake slices.Paul and I used our Booky coupons to get B1G1 cake slices. He had the Supreme Salted Caramel and I had the Reverse Salted Caramel. His was a moist chocolate cake with an inch of icing and half an inch of caramel filling, complete with rock salt. Mine was a chocolate cake as well, but the icing and filling were both salted caramel. SO GOOD. This was one of the instances where we preferred our own choices rather than the other's choice, which is rare.The 150/slice is so sulit. As in. It's for 2 people actually. Paul and I barely managed to finish them both. Due in part to umay factor (especially in my case because of the thick coat of icing and filling). But that doesn't mean the cakes weren't delicious. Because they were. Amazingly good. Good enough to make me want to come back and try other flavors!

We availed of the Booky promo of buy 1 take 1 cake slice. I think knowing that it's for the promo, they sliced the cake very thinly. Even Starbucks makes bigger slices than they did.We had the Salted Caramel and the Dark Chocolate. Both were delicious.

I’ve had better red velvet cupcakes and theirs can improve. The colour is too light almost bordering red orange. I’m not a big fan of cream toppings since it sometimes overpowers the cupcakes. Their box and presentation is good.

If I’m not mistaken this “Oh Fudge” cake was launched just last year around June and ever since has been one of my go-to chocolate cakes. If you’re a chocoholic, you’ll love this too. It’s ₱105 per slice but I got their combo that’s “sulit!” ₱190 for the slice of cake plus a choice of a cup of latte or cappuccino.

My son's friends gave him a Valrhona Chocolate Cake. It is now one of our favorite desserts.  It is made of dark chocolate layers. very decadent and enjoyable.  I would recommend if you need a small "rush" cake for blowing candles.
