Whenever I’m at Megamall, it’s really a challenge for me where to dine in because there are a lot of good choices there. I randomly checked my website to see where I’ve never eaten before and that day was when I finally got to try Cibo. We ordered two different pastas —- farfalle alla genovese and lasagna. The ribbon pasta was ridiculously flavourful. The mushrooms, the pesto cream, the basil compliments each other. The pastas were both great especially when you add fresh-crushed pepper, a generous amount of parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of dried chili flakes, and Voila! Explosion of flavors! The noodles were perfectly cooked al dente —- really had a bite and good texture. The chocolate dessert was surprisingly pretty small but it was just enough because it was too sweet and chunky and really delightful.

As expected, Cibo always delivers good food. It’s not my first time in this branch but only got to post my review now after a recent visit when I suddenly remembered I haven’t updated it in website.Because of its location in Fashion Hall i.e. at the side of a very wide hallway, this branch is airy and looks spacious. You wouldn’t feel cramped even if the restaurant is packed unlike say their branch in Glorietta which is “masikip.”My staples ate the spinach & gorgonzola dip & crostini, potato chips with garlic mayonnaise dip and then lemon iced tea (or grape shake). For the mains, it will depend on my mood:For pasta, my fave is the Alfonso (shrimps with tomato cream sauce) followed by either Genovese (pesto) or Telefono (cheese). If I’m craving for a sandwich, the first that comes to mind is their Praga Panini (ham) and then the Gamberetti (shrimps). For pizza, probably won’t go wrong with any flavor you choose but I often get the one with prosciutto. If entree, the rosemary beef with rice pilaf is hands down my favorite.

Actual Rating: 3.5It has been quite a long time since I last ate at Cibo. Yet, the spinaci zola as a staple would never be replaced. We started with it and the quality is still there. The cheeses and the spinach balanced each other complimented by the crunchy crostini. Don’t expect it to be guilt-free though, it’s a savory and oily appetizer, to say the least. But, it’s yum!We also had the porchetta sandwich. It has good cuts of pork meat. The slices were not too fatty, yet they were tender. Flavor was also leaning on the salty-savory end, best paired with their white sauce that comes with it. It’s a filling dish if you want to carb-load.We also had the ossobucco. In my opinion, the beef was cooked well. It was tender, the bone marrow was also filled up with ‘em fatty and flavorful good stuff. The flavor though, could be improved. Perhaps adding some dried tomatoes might make the taste more memorable. We also had pene al telefono. The pasta was a little overcooked, plus the sauce was kinda lacking. It would help to add more sauce to make the dish more flavorful, though balance of tomato and cheese was achieved well. The prosciutto pizza was the bomb though. The pizza was baked to perfect crisp, plus the pizza’s cheesiness was definitely a plus. It wasn’t bland! It was creamy and cheesy which the prosciutto complimented perfectly. Get this one.I would go back. But, there are still many other places around to try first.

Cibo has been one of my favorite, go-to places for simple yet comforting food. I always order Farfalle Genovese. It never fails. And, spinaci zola remains as irresistible as ever.

For their 20th anniversary last August, they had a promo - get any of their 20-year bestseller and get one of their favorite plates for just 20pesos. There were 5 dishes to choose from for the 20pesos promo. Such a steal so we really scheduled to have a dinner date there. We got our all time favorite from Cibo - the Spinaci Zola and chose the Spaghettini alla Margherita for the 20pesos meal. I was really tempted to get the Cream di Zucca (Pumpkin Soup) so we ended up ordering again, adding the soup plus Spaghettini alla Bolognese. Never miss the Spinaci Zola. It really is a must try. No other spinach dip comes close to it. And it’s served fresh as you can still see it sizzling. The pumpkin soup’s really yummy too with a big chuck of bacon. And the bowl’s really big. It’s actually good to split for 2 persons but I finished it all by myself. The two pastas (spaghettini) looked the same but you can tell the difference in their tastes even if they’re both tomato-based. A serving is also good to share. We didn’t finish the margherita so we just had it for take out.The staff were attentive to the diners’ need although it tend to be too much. I also didn’t like how they asked us how was the food. One of the staff asked me as soon as I took a bite. I mean, if there’s something wrong the customer would immediately inform them. It’s like they’re pressuring us to say good comments. But other than that, I enjoyed the food.

First of, I ordered pasta and iced tea. One of the servers or maybe the captain asked me if i wanted to have antipasto while waiting. So I did try it. After 15 minutes of waiting, my starter and main served at the same time. That was not even a busy day. Anyhow, another server asked me how’s the food and I told them that I didn’t like the service, but i liked the food. at the end of the day the manager apologised and I saw starters being served first.4.5 for food3 for service

They catered my colleague's event.  Food was so-so.  Given the budget of the event, they could have served a "fuller" meal instead of macaroni pasta.  The pizza was not good, but I've never been a fan of their pizza anyway.  There are much better pizza places out there.  The presentation was well done and the waiters were attentive.  But in the end, the food was just ok.

Back then, when the only branch that is accessible to me was the one in Shangri-la Edsa, I wanted to try it na. When they’ve open a branch in Megamall that’s the time I have decided to try this resto. I haven’t came back since the first time I ate here, the food is so-so. And i didn’t even like their pizza. I’ll try to re-write a review if I’ve decided to dine here again someday. Maybe it was just a wrong choice of food. Who knows?
