The Mega Food Hall was once the IN place to be. This was where Frankie's first branched out from the original at City Golf as well as Nav from Kapitolyo. Dojo Dairy opened its first official stall from just being available at most Little Tokyo restos and where Sweet tea first delighted us with its iced teas. Of course, who can forget the long lines that Halal Guys commanded when it first opened? We literally saw friends we haven't seen in ages on that line. 😜Some were more quiet openings, but all seem to be doing well when based on the foot traffic we saw tonight. Yes tonight! For the first time in a long time, it's a very recent review. It's just better when you review fresh from the resto rather than facing the difficulty of trying to recall details weeks or even months after. Anyway, I digress. We do lean towards a few stalls here including Chubby's. We have found that they serve consistently good Southern style food. Tonight was no different. My fiancé and I found ourselves at Ortigas, unusual for us midweek. We made the most of it by dining somewhere we don't find in QC. We decided on Halal Guys and Chubby's. The Southern Fried Chicken platter had our names on it! The chicken fillet (yey no bones) has a thick batter and topped with lots of gravy. I find this hearty and comforting. Served with honky tonk rice- I really don't know what that it is but it's tasty. This also comes with coleslaw and blackened corn-- which we both thought tasted really weird. Servings were very generous and no doubt you will feel full after. A wallet friendly and happy tummy choice for sure!

I love their Southern Fried Chicken and Ribs! Order is huge for a single serving, complete with Rice and two side dishes. Very affordable for the price of around 270. I always come back here at Chubby's SM Megamall especially when we are watching a movie at IMAX or Director's Club.

Live their food here. A bit pricey but it was really worth it. We always buy their Pulled Pork Nachos since it's very tasty and It's good as snack when watching movies.  Their Southern Fried Chicken is also good!

The reason why we only ate here was because of the intense line at Frankie's and I didn't want to wait because I was so hungry but I wasn't really disappointed.Me and my boyfriend bought the Southern Fried Chicken (199.00) and the serving was so big I wished we just shared haha. I wasn't able to finish all my food. If there were a lot of seating available (which it took us 20 minutes to finally get a table, I understand since we were in the food hall) and the side dish (corn) was warm (seriously it was cold af), I would have given this place a 4.

Poor stuff. Got the big platter for the group and the ribs on the big platter were bony and the meat very tough. Pulled pork felt soggy. Chicken was fried in old oil i think. Dirty rice is drier than the summer.

Out of the ball park ribs, this is the sort of stuff than brings to mind "its so goid it makes me wanta slap my Moma" if your looking for great BBQ this is The Spot.

Their BBQ pulled pork platter is a carbohydrate overload meal as it was served with rice and toast. The flavor of the pulled pork is what I like in my BBQ...smoky and not that sweet. It was even topped with onion rings. I honestly just got a bite of the bread as I ended up eating the pulled pork with the rice. Also the chili and slaw greatly complements the meal.

Definitely a must try! We ordered their group meal for 4 and everything on the platter tasted great. It's a good deal for Php899 because you get to taste a little of everything. :)

I was aiming for thai food but then I saw people piling up at Chubby's. That kinda swayed me to just eat there. Haha. I'm not really a fan of ribs but I was happy that they had a chicken option. I love chicken, I cannot emphasize that enough.It took me around 15 mins to get my order and when I saw it, MAN. IT WAS HUGE. A huge piece of Chicken thight fillet, honky tonk rice, and 2 sides. I loved the chicken. It was very crispy and the gravy was icing on the cake. The rice has too much flavor for my taste. The sides were pretty good, too. I liked the corn very much.That big plate for 199 php is a steal. Definitely will be coming back to try their ribs.

Ordered the Chubby's Special whic is pulled pork and ribs combo. Came with coleslaw corn and rice. I like the flavor and taste! Even the burned (little bit only) corn side dish was good. The rib could be a little more tender but was not really tough. I'll come back to sample the chicken next time. I think its good value for 274 pesos. Over all a good experience for me.
