I grew up in this resto as they are one of the most respected traditional restaurant in town. Ambience looks so homey and clean. Their foods as always, cooked and prepared in a traditional way. One of our favorite is their paella that loads of seafoods, fried chicken marinated and cooked in perfection. Hence, you can have all your favorite dishes in a set meals which is more economical. Also, we like and we always come for their choices of native snacks served during the merienda/siesta time in a buffet --very filling and prices are affordable. Staff are well-trained, thus, service are very satisfactory.

Once in a while, it's comforting to eat in a very familiar place with very familiar dishes (those that are usually served at home) cooked by pros. Barrio Fiesta is a perfect place. All time favorite Filipino food in a restaurant that has been tried and tested by the passing time.Classic Filipino dishes --Kare-Kare - Beautifully served in a clay pot, Kare-Kare is my favorite Filipino dish! Thick and rich peanut base sauce with chunks of beef, ox tail, tripe and a whole lot of veggies. Filipino pride at it's best!Sinigang na Baboy - Staple Filipino dish in every Filipino household. Made from tamarind, this sour soup can be served with pork, beef, fish or shrimps. It also has an assortment of veggies, of which kangkong and okra are my favorite!Camaron Rebosado - Perfectly fried, breaded shrimps that are tasty and just perfect when dipped into the ketchup based sauce. Simple, no fuss Filipino food comfort!

We had our Christmas Party at Barrio Fiesta and ordered Sinigang na Bangus, Crispy Pata, Beef Kare-Kare, Pinakbet, Inihaw na Pusit and Leche Flan, Halo-Halo and Fruit Salad for desserts.I can’t say much to the foods, since I’m a picky eater, I only ate Crispy Pata and Sinigang na Bangus. Although I had a taste of pinakbet coz I took some pork and shrimp from it. Yes its mixed pork and shrimp so it was good. Well, they were just like homemade Filipino foods so there’s nothing unique in the taste. The servings are good for 4-6 people. So it was a lot. Except for the desserts, its solo. The halo-halo though was full of ice and few toppings or what-you-call-that. It was like milk and beans in ice. Just like that. The number one (and only) complain we had is their lack of initiative. They didn’t served us water unless asked. They didn’t clean our table despite moving on to desserts already unless asked. That’s only it.

Kare-Kare!! Yup, if not for the Kare-Kare I would rate Barrio Fiesta 2 stars. I ordered Puto Bungbong and I got a purple trash. I wouldn't even call it puto bungbong. It was just purple with margarine and sugar. Yep. That's it. Place could also use a little cleaning. It was just the creamy Kare-Kare that saved the day.

food is too pricey for its taste. the kare-kare is so-so, crispy pata from Kuya J's are much much better than theirs, pork sinigang tastes like carinderia style sinigang. and employees makes you feel like they don't want you to eat there.

We really needed to eat lunch since its almost 1pm. So after searching for restos we ended in Barrio Fiesta in megamall. The rice is half cooked but my sister said there are some parts only. "Ung nasa ibabaw yata ung di luto". I really hated uncooked rice since im a rice lover. The kare kare is not warm even it is seved in a palayok. The chicken sisig is okay according to my other sister. The crispy pata is to die for. Dun lang ako natuwa. The service so poor! According to the staff they are short on manpower. Really! The place does not have much AC, they have fans nonetheless it is still hot. They dont do debit card. Ang bagal sa lahat even serving food and getting your bill. I keep on complaining afterward. My sis said its for the experience, and yes it is! Will never eat here again.

The Kare-Kare was good. It was creamy and you could really taste the peanut flavor. The Barrio Fiesta Rice was great and had a lot of toppings. I’m not a bagoong eater, but apparently the alamang was not too salty and tasted perfect. The orders were good for three people.

Barrio Fiesta used to be very popular (we are talking about decades back). It's the only (or two) place you take your balikbayan friends and\or relatives who miss that Filipino taste and feel. Until slowly, it took a back seat to new brands who are more hip, more interesting. Some branches closed. And some are taking their last breaths. Just recently, my good friend from Colorado invited me to dinner at Barrio Fiesta (Megamall). Knowing this friend, he's the conservative one, ergo, the choice.  So, I went. After the usual hugging, my attention shifted to studying this  branch. It looks, smells old, the waiters are old, and yes, the food presentations are definitely old. Except for the Sisig which was good and the Halo-Halo which three of us shared, the rest of the dishes we ordered were just mediocre. From the Kare-Kare (sauce too think), to the Dinuguan (puto was dry), Pancit (unbelievably bland and noodles were sticking to each other), Grilled Belly (was it toasted?) and the others I didn't even bother to put on my plate. Servers were helpful and alert. Although, personally, they should down on their rice intake. They're way too healthy (aka: fat). Sayang ang Barrio Fiesta. A re-marketing is highly needed. Or else, it might just disappear to oblivion.
