When we told the manager of how rude their waiter was, the manager apologized BUT when he was talking to the waiter...it seemed that the waiter did not take the feedback and was even rolling his eyes. The manager was doing all the work. The second time we went...their service was SOOOOO SLLLLLOOOWWW. They gave my boyfriend's food first after 20mins and then mine 30mins after. We ordered 2 freakin meals! My goodness! Of course my boyfriend wont eat his meal given that mine wasnt there yet! This happened in Akira Shangrila. Will never go back to that place again and I will tell my friends and family to just go to OMAKASE its cheaper and they have good service or OOMA or OGETSU HIME. Dont waste your time here.

We went here to try out their teppanyaki table, but all 3 tables were occupied so we settled for a regular table instead. This would turn out to be a huge mistake. Despite trying out different entrees from their menu, we found the entire experience to be very disappointing. The place was less than half capacity, but they took over an hour to serve half of our order. The next half took them another half an hour to finish the order. Wagyu Ramen (P378)This seemed interesting as this dish is heavily publicized in their posters and table displays. After ordering the dish, the server informed us that they don't have Wagyu so they will be replacing it with Tenderloin strips instead.  Broth we chose was Miso (salt based), but the soup was a bit sweet and each bowl only had 4 overcooked strips of meat.Blow Torched Maki (P348)I found this to be one of the better dishes we ordered. Kani and cream cheese is wrapped with rice topped with a good balance of salmon and tuna. Dragon Roll (P599)The priciest of the sushi plates we ordered, but the most disappointing. The unagi inside the roll was overpowered by the sweet zest of mango placed on top. It tasted like a California Maki without kani and cucumber.Sizzling Salmon Cheese (I forgot the exact price and name of this new dish) It was served on a sizzling plate that wasn't hot which made the melted cheese harden quickly. Although they gave a generous serving of cheese, the sushi itself was only 4-5 pieces. Teppanyaki Set B (U.S. Ribeye Prime 100g, Chicken, Shrimp, and Beef for P1268) Plate was relatively small for the price and the beef although tender, mostly consisted of fatty parts. The shrimp bites included was equivalent to about 3 medium sized pieces. The dish mostly contained vegetables and a decent serving of sliced chicken breast. I would not recommend ordering this dish.Mixed Seafood Teppan (P728)I felt that the serving for this was fair, it could easily serve 3-4 people. Mix of salmon, fish fillet, squid, shrimp, and oysters. The fish was very tender and easy to digest. The oyster on the other hand, had a slight fishy taste(malansa). It isn't easy to notice as each osyter is heavily dressed with butter and garlic, but I was able to taste a slight hint of rotten seafood in 1 of the 2 oysters I ate.To be frank, none of the dishes we ordered tasted good, especially if consider the fact that you're already paying a slight premium for Japanese food. For the price point of this restaurant, I expected much better service from their staff. They weren't attentive, and the staff did not pay much attention to us despite being seated inside. I can't imagine how the service will be if you dined outside. The last time we ate here, the service experience was completely different from today. I remember being impressed by the teppanyaki artist who performed and felt that the overall experience wasn't pocket friendly, but not bad at all. The only difference from our two visits is that we were seated in the teppanyaki table the first time. I'll make sure to take a mental note to not go come back to this place even if the artists have great showmanship.

I ordered US Rib eye teppanyaki, salmon sashimi, and miso soup. The beef was tender but I have tried tastier teppanyaki. Sashimi and miso soup were okay as well.

Was told that there was no reservation, waited for 45 mins for a teppan table, then after was told that we were second on the list cause of what they call a “priority list”, told that the other batch listed at 4pm. “NO RESERVATION” and the girl server was rude too. On christmas day.

Not really sure how to rate this restaurant. It’s not quite a 3 or 4 but I didn’t really see anything wrong with their food or service. Their food was pretty good, but it’s not really authentic. We particularly enjoyed their torched maki, and their sashimi was fresh. It’s just that their gyoza breaks once you bite into them, and the karaage is a bit oily. Other than that, it’s pretty good. Their staff are friendly and accommodating too.

The serving of the bento is quite huge (probably bec of the box lol). It's a bit pricey compared to other Japanese restaurants. Food tastes okay, not something I'm willing to try again (because I'm not a fan of Japanese food). The ambience is a bit professional looking (like you can bring your colleagues here and discuss work stuff, it's quite suited for it).

It was my first time to try Akira but was quite disappointed. The rockshrimp was just bad. Breading was tough and was bland. The Akira roll was just so so and I might have had tried a better one in another resto at a cheaper price. Would not have minded the high price but food was just really bad.

the place is crowded, and not well-ventilated with cooking demos happening here and there for the teppanyaki orders. the servers are very cheerful and quick to serve, but the only downside is most of our orders didnt arrived and we were billed for those dishes too.noteworthy dishes:tempura : good batter, cooked well, very tender, tastes really goodakira roll, chicken teriyaki roll, fried rice, teppanyaki us beef tenderloinavoid:oyster teppan: oysters were tiny just looks big because of batter/harina, they recycle the oyster shells for presentation, tasted offstill enjoyed the experience and the food!

My overall experience has left me wanting.I was craving for sushi and it seemed like a good idea to try Akira, a restaurant that was supposed to be well versed in 'The Art of Sushi'.The idea is that Akira is a more upscale version of Sumo Sam. It's expected that the food would be more expensive, but that also should mean that the overall experience is better. I left the restaurant regretting not going with my first choice of Japanese restaurant in Shangri-la or even to Sumo Sam.Taste-wise and presentation, it was okay at best. As for the serving... not for the hungry; it's too little -if you take into consideration how much you'll be paying and what you're actually getting. The service was more like being served by trainees, which again, for the supposedly more upscale experience, shouldn't be the case. Not to mention that our orders arrived with a lot of time in between, and the very last one did when we were about to get the bill. I am a fan of Sumo Sam and their sister companies, but sadly not of this restaurant.

FAIL. From wagyu garlic rice (too garlicky it tastes bitter already) and akira fried rice and chicken teriyaki (salty instead of sweet) and rock shrimp (dry). The only good thing we ordered was salmon sashimi. Seafood ramen was okay. Everything is too pricey for the taste. We spent 2400 for 3 persons. Service was good.
