If you’re craving for Pinoy food, Wooden Spoon is definitely one you should try. My favorites are simple: just the pork sisig (super yum!) and ensaladang mangga plus rice and I’m happy! But there are other dishes that are worth ordering too like their crispy crab pancit, baked chicken, kare kare and many more. However what I don’t like about Wooden Spoon and really is the main reason why we don’t frequent here as much as I’d like to is that they only accept cash! And I don’t understand why. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope they change or have changed this policy since the last time we were here (although the description here in website still says “Cash only” in the restaurant overview page so I guess they haven’t changed). 😏 I’ve seen even smaller restaurants accept credit card as payment so why can’t they. 🤔

I've eyed this restaurant for my birthday celebration with the fam based on their high rating and i also agree with their positive feedbacks. Our top food selections were the beef kare-kare, stuff pechay, and chilli squid with mushrooms. Pork sisig and lechon kawali was just the usual. Not much menu for the kids though and the sinigang belly was real sour. Overall food was great plus the service was a pleasure.

Pinoy comfort food at its finest. On our table- Chicken Pandan- a winner with the kids; Tinapa Fried Rice- u huge mountain of rice mixed with everything but the kitchen sink (😂) and topped with crispy dilis; Sigarilyas with Daing- a perfect marriage of the creaminess of the coconut milk, and saltiness of dried fish , with a hint of chili; Sinampalukang Manok- sour and salty broth with tamarind leaves, kangkong, sitaw, and boneless chicken thighs. Perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon; Bistek Tagalog- amped up with tender slices of beef on a bed of mash and gravy instead of the usual bistek sauce. The atmosphere is homey, just like having lunch at lola's. A round of applause for Sandy Daza!😊

Its a nice casual pinoy comfort food restaurant by chef Sandy DazaNo frills here just honest to goodness filipino food.Chandeliers and seats are all adorned with vignettes of spoons..as the restaurant is aptly named. The main kubyertos for any Filipino meal.We had the Tinapa Fried Rice, easily good for 2 hungry to 4 not so hungry diners..It was tasty, with bits of smoked tinapa fish topped with crunchy dilis. The bistek tagalog (pinoy beef steak) has the right soy-calamansi flavor, the beef tender and the mashed potato was creamy good. The wooden spoon crispy chicken is their twist on korean style chicken. sweet, salty goodness although it lacked something, either the presentation was too straightforward or it needed a bit more punch to it.Otherwise overall the restaurant is a good deal in Rockwell if you are looking for casual pinoy food

We always see that there are lots of people waiting for their chance to dine in here so we got curious and tried it out.We did love the Tortang Talong, it was nice and simple but left us satisfied taste-wise. Shrimp Pampango was ok as well as the Baked Chicken but I guess we were still looking for that “something special” factor. I grew up watching and salivating over Chef Sandy’s Del Monte Kitchenomics show when I was younger so maybe that’s where they get the simple and uncomplicated style on their menu. Maybe too much expectations on our part or we just didn’t know what to order for us to appreciate the restaurant more.Interiors and details of the restaurant was nice though, I liked the wooden spoon details you can see at unexpected places.
