I was looking for a nice place to celebrate Father's Day in Makati and I ended up choosing Whistlestop because of the variety its menu has to offer and of course, it is conveniently situated at the website haven known as Jupiter St.As it turns out, I made the right decision because as I said, the menu is a mix of Filipino, American, and Spanish dishes just to name a few. The variety can cater to everyone in the family.I'm also surprised and impressed that our orders arrived about less than 10-15 minutes after they were placed. For approximately 200-400php, you will get your money's worth because of the taste and the huge serving per order. My order was the Whistlestopper, and holy mackarel, that was a mouthful! Pretty nice taste and value for 210php. I cannot emphasize how that bacon is crunchy with all those crumbs, but it is so soft at the same time! (see the attached photo)The service was superb. Their crew were attentive, accommodating, and friendly. They make sure to cater to your needs immediately with smiles on their faces. Now I know why Whistlestop is a preffered destination of those in need of their midnight/early morning food, or maybe, drinking needs.

place looks neat and cozy. perfect spot for chill out and pig out session. lighting and chairs are perfect. nachos is very delicious and also their pork sisig plus their tokwa't baboy. if they could open a branch near our office (macapagal area) i would be a frequent visitor. the only not so good feedback is their waiters should be more attentive to.their customers. nonetheless, everything was spot on :)

I was here last Friday, a supposed rest day turned into an outreach holiday. After our event with kids from Bgy. Valenzuela, we settled here for a filling lunch. Whistle Stop is still around, now operating 3 branches in different spots in the Metro. I remember their very first location in Shangri-la Mandaluyong years ago. I didn’t know they served affordable plates, mostly Filipino. Now that I do, I am likely to come back here again in the near future. Our group had a satisfying lunch, led by two orders of tuna viands, Tuna Belly, and Tuna Sisig. The former was prepared well, while the latter was a disappointment as it was merely canned tuna with a slight Sisig taste. We also had a crunchy and healthy bowl of Broccoli and my fave order that day, Filipino style, Chicken Curry. It was so good, I was guilty of getting most of its portions. Go ahead and try it too!

Whistlestop has been around for generations, I remember when my dad would take us there in the 90s as the evening’s final stop before driving back home. Two nights ago counts as my first for this decade. (this location is new, they moved from their old spot along Pasay Road). The place isn’t air conditioned, but the December air was just right. The crowd’s lively and people were doing their own thing. The place is best for those who want to feel the life of the buzz of other peeps enjoying the evening. The food and service were extremely surprisingly good. The food was good and the servings were generous. The staff members were attentive, super aware, and super responsive. I don’t think that there was any request they overlooked. And while most people would experience feeling abandoned or ignored when they raised their hands for a server to come over in other restos, the Whistlestop staff never skipped a beat. They even got us mashed potatoes when we thought there was likely none to accompany our salisbury steak. Great service and great value.
