I honestly do not know how Indonesian cuisine tastes like and I guess most Filipinos would agree with me. My only concept of it is that it’s spicy but that’s about as far as my knowledge goes. So when Khris and I saw this restaurant called Warung Indo along San Agustin Street at Salcedo Village, we were instantly interested to try it. This is actually one of our two beloved restaurant discoveries along that street, the other one being Sultan Mediterranean Grill.

This is our second time here, the flavors of their food is superb! That is one of the reason why we came back actually. But one thing I did not enjoy is the beef in the Beef Rendang is really hard to chew or to slice ;( I do like the fact that this store is open 24hrs, I can have my food delivered whenever I’m craving.

I always keep coming back to this place because of their Ayam Penyet dish, which consists of a well-marinated fried chicken, bagoong rice, sunny side up egg and veggies. Add their special chilli sauce to these, and you’re off for some very hot delectable dining. Always served hot and hefty. Good tasting broth on their Beef balls soup too. Very affordable price, that’s why you have to wait in line to have a seat during peak hours. But it’s worth the wait. The place has simple casual interiors good for a quick casual dine. They have to do something about their comfort room though- its kinda swampy. Nice and patient staff. Even the guard too is accomodating to us.

Ordered the chicken satay, flavor was really good! So was the nasi goreng that came with it. There was too much rice for the amount of meat that came with the order. Also ordered the corn fritters but it was just so-so. Too much flour, not enough corn. What I didn't like about this place was how slow their service was. It took 30-something minutes for them to serve the meal.

Food is a 4 - I really love the taste of their food here. I think it would be more worth it if you eat their fried chicken dish. Since we are not that familiar with their menu we just picked whatever it is that we find intersting. Only to be served with an almost chao fan meal. However, the taste is better compared to an ordinary chao fan meal. The noodles are way out of the ordinary. I felt I was eating at home whenever I eat their food. Served with simplicity but with exploding flavours ;)Service is a 4- I must admit that the service is okay however I still think that their is a language barrier which is understandable since the owners are legit foreigners who are very happy whenever they serve. I can feel their excitement whenever someone new comes in. Their is this fiesta vibe I must say. It’s like you’re aeting from someone else’s house and the owners are the host. Lovely.Ambiance is a 3 - No, it’s not a fancy restau. It’s just a simple one but you would go back to this place whenever you crave Chinese/ Indonesian food served with a smile by the owners or the staff. Price is a 4- If you want something affordable late midnight go here! They have a promo or what they call happy hour. I think the pricing is just okay considering the taste of their food. Would I go back here!? I just did, been here twice already. ;)

lol. it was taking 30 mins to telling us that our orders were not availble, and your stupid waiters don't know how to say apology, even the way they act while talking to us is enough to make us never have another visit to your restaurant again

I will never go back to this place. This service is very slow. I got my order an hour then the Laksa that I ordered an hour ago was unavailable. They ahould have said it beforehand that it was unavailable. It was very disappointing.

We’re craving for Indonesian food and our friend suggested us to go to Warung Indo. A bit surprised since it’s located at small street and the restaurant looks dark.Give it a try and I love their bakwan jagung. Be careful of the chili, it’s so spicy and hot. Chicken sate is also delicious. It taste same like the one in Indonesia. Beef rendang is my less fave thing. Really hard to chew.

I was still full so I went for something light. I ordered their Gado-Gado which is a mixed of veggies smothered with sweet peanut sauce. It was ok. I honestly don't know what to expect but it seems it is more of an acquired taste. Ordered their Teh Tarik but it was obviously prepared out of powder.
