We had an excellent experience at Umu today. Both the food and service were excellent. The Wafu steak was tender and the included gravy sauce was quite yummy as well. Their Philippine Maki (Umu’s version of California Maki) includes what seems like prawn meat together with the usual filling of crab stick and mango. The Salmon Teriyaki was cooked just right. The meat was soft and well seasoned. You can see the meat glisten as you eat it. Our water and hot tea were refilled immediately without us even asking, and they even gave everyone hot towels after we’re seated. Price was quite expensive though. Good thing we got a good discount from Eatigo which made the bill more affordable.

I went here yesterday lunch. Peache sake was good. Asparagus in beef roll was amazing! All that we ordered esp the fish was fresh. Salmon and tuna is the best! Oyster was a bit salty but its alright. Coffee after lunch was perfect! We'l come back fo sho. Ur new wallpaper was cute

The soft taco crab maki is really amazing and their Katsudon! Bit more expensive compared to other Japanese restaurants but worth every penny.

Our group availed of the 50% discount promo with BDO credit card, otherwise can be too pricey for Japanese food but that’s the normal price range you can expect when eating in a hotel.Fresh and delicious food especially the salmon sashimi was super yummy as well as the salmon teriyaki. We also ordered the usuals like tempura and chicken karaage. Also ordered the wafu steak for some meat. The place is huge! There are many sections: there’s one upon entering, next there are private rooms, then there’s a section with teppanyaki tables and then there’s the large area where we were led to that houses several tables, comfortable couches and beautiful floral cushioned chairs.Service is good too.

Ate here using 50% off promo from a credit card. Food was super worth it, delicious taste and great plating. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Ambience felt classy also. They have one of the best tempura and salmon head I ever had

Got Eatigo discount for the meal today. So the price is very worth it. Maybe my 8th trip to Umu this year. Uni Sashimi: they serve one of the best Uni Sashimi in Manila and it often sells out by dinner. Definitely my favourite in Umu. 8.5 to 9 out of 10, depending on luck. Sushi: their sushi is always nice and dependable. 8/10. Teppanyaki Ribeye: first time trying this. It tastes decent. Nothing great nor underwhelming. Maybe 7/10. Didn’t order their fried softshell crab this time but that is another favourite of mine. Will definitely come again

By far the best Japanese restaurant we have tried! Thanks to our discounted rate from Eatigo this date became a steal. Love the authentic Japanese flavors from the food that was served to us plus we got great service by their staff. Our server, Grace, was very attentive of our needs. Love their service tea as well. Will definitely be coming again. 🥰

Their food was good but I think that some, not all food items are overpriced. Yes, I know that since this is a prestigious hotel which is why the food is priced like that but it would be better if they better the quality of their food so that hindi naman kami malugi? Recommend: Ika (squid) Do not recommend: spicy salmon

Celebrated my mom's 60th birthday here! First, the ambiance is really nice and good for small gatherings. The place is quiet and suitable for intimate get togethers. Second, the food is great though I suggest to get things that are more 'kakaiba'. The Sashimi Gosyumori was the best sashimi I've ever had, the Kani Sarada tasted great, and the Chu Toro Teppan was the best (subject to availability). We had their super popular Wafu Steak too but I think it would be better with rice, but you might end up too full to eat anything else. It's still good though, very soft! The Agedashi Tofu, Ebi Tempura, Dragon Maki, Chicken Teriyaki, and Soft Shell Crab was delicious too but nothing out of this world, you could easily be satisfied with a less high-end Japanese restaurant like Omakase or Akira. Overall my experience here was great. Jump on any promo (I got 40% off via Eatigo) you chance upon to make the most out of your meal since it's quite expensive and best for special occasions.

Really good value for money! Good ambience and service. Love their scallops teppanyaki, cod fish teriyaki. Their Philippine maki is also worth a try since it has prawns in the roll.
