Supposedly planning to give a great dinner for my mother-in-law before she leaves the counry the next day but the food was rather salty. I dunno if they actually taste their food before serving or were just too overconfident to not taste it and rely on their "pro chef instincts" or whatever they call it . Either way, all of us weren't satisfied at all. Yes, we didnt bother telling the server about this because we were hungry and we only had until 830 because our table is apparently reserved for that time slot. Some servers werent even familiar with the wine. No, that green wine we ordered and asked about is not from Spain, it's from Portugal, sir! And that glassware we asked about, Riedel, that's not from the UK, it's from Austria, my dear sir! Overconfidence all over the place. There is even a staff happily running down the stairs like a child. Wow, please the resto is not a playground. Act professional; plus, you guys are serving expensive food. And I wonder why kitchen staff dont wear hairnets/headcaps. Trying to look cool without the annoying kitchen headgear? Or are you guys waiting for a hair-on-food complaint before taking action?Anyway, will not return and will not recommend. High reviews all over the internet are not credible and reliable nowadays.I dont usually make reviews but this is the worst experience ever.

We were interested in trying out their tasting menu but as soon as we knew of how much it would cost, we backed out. However, as soon as the news broke out that Toyo Eatery is the only Philippine restaurant part of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2019, we knew we had to get a table reserved!Divided into 8 sections, the tasting menu consisted of: Snacks, Mga Kilaw, Soup, Pampalamig, Buro, Banana "Catsup", Silog, and Desserts. At the top of my head, the memorables would have to be:Rellenong Pusit - As it is, rellenong pusit is already one of my favorite dishes and for them to elevate it into a whole other level is beyond me.Chicken in Ginger - It's like tinola but on steroids!Bahay Kubo - All the vegetables in the song, Bahay Kubo, from singkamas down to linga!Silogs - Even without the mains, the sinangag and itlog was delicious on their own.Toyo Eatery, in its entirety (from the ambience, to the intricacies of the dish, to the knowledge and service of the staff), definitely deserves all the attention and accolades its getting. It should have already gotten your attention, too. 😉

6 out of 5 stars! No words to describe such a great dining experience. Food was excellent and out of this world. Service was also excellent in where they describe every dish that was served. Ambience was also excellent in where everything just worked perfectly together.

I dont know what the hype is all about. We went here as a couple , the service was slow. food wasnt that great. price was a little too steep. Not worth it. They probably sold their soul to get so much fame for such mediocre restaurant
