[2018-11-09] After a website meetup, one generous website friend treated some of us (well, those who were still present and wants coffee/drink) to coffee/drink from Toby’s Estate. I ordered a latte, my usual order from most coffee shops. It was good enough to drink as-is, i.e., without adding anything. I normally add sugar if the coffee seems too bitter for me. *[Rating is based on only 1 drink and 1 in-store experience]

A friend invited me for the launching of Acqua Private Residences by Century Properties at Sucat, a few weeks ago.  I really loved to go and see their model/endorser, but alas, the notice was so short and it was impossible for me to come to the party.  Instead of sulking over that, I got a bit stalled at Century Properties Instagram posts.  Till I found out about Century City Mall.

I've read a lot of reviews about Toby's online. I've always wanted to dine at their Makati branch.  For some reason,  i get lost within the identical streets of Salcedo and Legaspi. I stumbled upon their small branch at Century City.  It was a Friday night,  we had dinner at Hole In The Wall.  He was a little woozey because of Smoky Bastard,  i was full because of Bad Bird.   What better way to cap off the night than to have a cup of joe.  Didn't know it was Toby's at first,  i had to look again. According to the coffee enthusiasts,  Toby's make a mean flat white and cafe mocha.  We got one of each.  They make good coffee,  i am sure of that.  The mocha is good but the flat white is phenomenal.  I am more of the flat white fan since i prefer a strong flavor of coffee (Local Edition makes a mean flat white too).  The only thing i can comment on is probably the temperature of the water.  I would've given five stars if the water is hot.

The place's not for those who want to hang out and chitchat. Small space and limited chairs. So take your coffee on the go. I bought mine brought it with me to the movies. Say, flat white and one of their buckys.

Unless you can find a seat, get your cuppa for take-away. There are only four seats available in this outlet, and very limited food choices. Still, my flat white from this outlet was good.

Perfect just for having your quick caffeine fix and probably some sweets. It would be nice though if they offer a little bit more of seating space.

Hours before the sponsored eat-up, I decided to try out restaurants and cafes at Century City Mall. After Burger King, I headed to Toby's Estate because I kind of desperately needed caffeine to keep myself "up" thoughout the dayI ordered "black" things (not intentionally, I swear):☕ Long Black, hot - ₱130🍪 Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie (or something like that) - ₱70I was looking for a plain chocolate chip cookie but I wasn't able to find such at Toby's Estate. Some were mixed with nuts and/or oats.I liked my Long Black. Strong and full-bodied, and although I had yet to add it with sugar, it had some delightful caramel notes. It was enough "fuel" to get me going. 😁My cookie was a bit too sweet to me. It seemed it had more nuts than chocolate chips, although I found it nice and chewy. The cafe had a chamber-like appearance and I liked its white and clean minimalist interiors. Seating just comprised of a long and simple wall-mounted table and stools, so it was pretty much more of a take-out place. There was also a station at the corner where you could get sugar in packets, straws and stirrers.

Fun fact: Buckles are not brownies. They're a mixture of fudge, cake and brownies and almost flourless. This place is good for take outs or if you want snacks, hot beverages or desserts for your movie, get some here.

Toby's estate is a coffee place that serves freshly prepared dishes as well as pastries that are readily available after a quick reheat. Service level is excellent across all their branches.

This is fhe first time I'vee tried their brews straight up without sugar or cream just pure unadulterated caffeine extract and it has effortlessly passed my no sugar test! Their americano is smooth, non acidic, full bodied and doesnt require any form of sweetener for it to be fit for consumption. This is how I test great coffee and their cup of Joe passed with flying colors.
