Excellent smoked meats...US style in Manila. Brisket, sausage, ribs, and chicken. No need for sauce when you can saver that good ole hickory oak flavor. I will definitely return to this joint next time I am in the area. Every bit worth the price and the best brisket I've ever had this far from Mississippi.

We hungry after cardio swimming and thinking where we will have our lunch. Luckily we have found this restaurant that offers a variety of smoke grilled meat. I had no idea what to order cause all the choices seem yummy. So the staff suggested their best seller which was the beefbrisket and never i have disappointed of having this for my lunch for a weekend off. It was perfect match for a plain rice(i even order for extra rice) and a bottle of san mig light. I was perfect combination. Overall i was satisfied with the food and staff were very accomodating👍🏻

I have always wanted to try American style low-and-slow BBQ, and not where it's smoke for a short bit and then thrown on the grill. I do see the popularity of the low-and-slow BBQ increasing over the years, as restos pop up here and there. Thankfully, there was one really good place near the hotel where I was staying at (Actually writing this as I am now lying down in the my hotel bed). The Smokeyard serves different kinds of smoked meats, but I went straight to the top of choice--Beef Brisket. It was life-changing! I don't know how it could've been chewy and melt-in-your-mouth at the same time, but it was. The fat was delectible, the beef, smoked to the max, with nothing but simple spices and its natural flavor. Never tasted beef in such a way. And the 3 BBQ sauces that were there (Original, Mustard Vinegar, and Fire) were very flavorful as well. I loved the mixing up the Mustard Vinegar and Fire ones together. Really, really good with the brisket!Since I ordered the Solo platter of Beef Brisket (brisket and 1 side), I got the Dirty Rice as my side. I think it's basically rice tossed in some of the dripping and fats of the smoked meat and a bit of BBQ sauce--I maybe wrong. Anyways, it was a little dry, but still good.An additional side that I ordered were French Fries. And there are a must to try! It's not just tossed around with some salt and pepper, but some tiny green herb bits as well. Green onion or parsley? Again, I maybe wrong. Whatever the case, it was truly drool amazing. Loved the super crispy and almost burt skinny bits.Food: 5.0 - Really good! As the saying goes, everything in Texas is big. Well that includes the flavor in Texas style slow-and-low BBQ.Price: 4.5 - Pricey--pricier than the portions I expected. But then, this style of vooking is labor intensive, so it makes sense.Service: 5.0 - Friendly staff! If I am not mistaken, the owner himself was the one that weigh and cut my brisket.Ambience: 5.0 - Very laid back kind of place.I am surely coming back to try the other stuff!!! Maybe tomorrow? LOL!--------------------Edited: November 22, 2018 -- Tomorrow!Oh yes, I went back there again. This 2nd time around, I arrived within their lunch hours. I was able to order their Lunch Special #6, which consisted of Beef Ribs, Pulled Pork, Chicken Wings, Rice (I opted to upgrade to the Dirty Rice), Buttered Veggies and a glass of their Freshly Brewed Iced Tea.All the meats that I had were just so fabulous. Still, my top pick would be the Beef Brisket. I wanted to try more of the BBQ-d meats, and this lunch combo was the best option.Ribs were suck-off the bone wonderful. Pulled Pork was spectacular as I drowned it in the sauce, and the Chicken Wings were yummy! Don't ask me what my fave was amongst all 3 as it was all good. LOL! 😀👍Of course, I ordered an extra side of French Fries as they were really fantabulous, and still are. Truth be told, I was close enough to licking everything clean, including the wax paper. ROFL! 😀😁😂

I love anything meat, so The Smokeyard is ideal for me. I ordered the solo plate #2 - 2pcs baby back pork ribs, 2pcs chicken wings, 2 regular sides. My order costs P525 without drinks, which I think is a bit pricey. The food tasted ok, but not worth its price. I don’t know if it is because the place is located in Poblacion or what? The ambiance suits the millennial market. It seems to be another gastropub from the outside. The al fresco dining is big enough to cater to lots of customers. Good for hanging out and drinking sesh. By the way, they serve locally crafted beer.Notwithstanding, there is really nothing extraordinary in this place that will make me go back anytime soon. In my opinion, there are far better restaurants that serve smoked meats with a great value for money ✌🏻

Interiors are also a sight to see with industrial elements, steel piped chairs and lights and an ambiance that will prepare you for a superb meal! Oh and if you guys are a basketball fan, then you're going to enjoy this place more with wide screens that show NBA plays..LEMONADE (P160-P180)One of the best Lemonades I've tasted! They put a small part of the lemon to the drink so it will not just taste sour but has an extra "umph" to it. It is not extremely sour but has the PERFECT taste for a lemonade.SWEET TEA (P60-P80)Just like the name sweet tea, the exact taste. It's a tad sweet for me, but hey we all have different taste buds! It's still a good drink :)PULLED PORK (50G P70) CHICKEN WINGS (50G P60) SPARERIBS (50G P85) BRISKET (50G P135)On to the smoked meat! You can choose in solo plates or pick your meat, so you can have a taste of everything. They have three solo plates at the moment with specific meats and sides you can choose, or go crazy and try everything haha.Smoked meat is a bit different from Inihaw, since it's slow cooking to get all the spices to meat. All the meats we got are delicious! It's like we were transported to America with every bite! The Spareribs are a bit different than the ones we have here, the meat does not easily fall off the bone. The goal is when we take a bite, it will have a bite mark to it, the proper way of smoking as per the teaching Troy knows. The brisket is the first one you have to eat, since it easily dries up (that really happens). I love the taste, however ours got dry because we took photos of everything first before eating haha.TRIVIA: They cook the brisket for 14 hours! DIRTY RICE (6oz P50, 8oz P70)One of the best sides! We all love to partner rice with everything haha!SMOKED BEANS (6oz P60, 8oz p80)If you really want to have the whole package of an authentic American taste, then Smoked Beans should be your side dish. I swear it was like I was transported to America! There's a bit of spice to it which is perfect.MAC + 4 CHEESES (6oz P140, 8oz P160)As a cheese lover, you should not miss this. It tastes soooo good! It can stand alone too even without the meat.CORNBREAD (8oz P70)The first time I tried pairing meat with bread. It's perfect with the Brisktet! The corn bread is not cooked in the traditional way since it's really far from Filipino taste. So to get us like this side, they made it according to what will pass with our palate.BANANA PUDDING (P150)When you're done with all the meat fest, there's always room for dessert. The banana pudding is not too sweet but just the perfect taste and size.Smokeyard is definitely worth the visit! They do of course offer alcoholic drinks, perfectly paired with smoked meats.OVERALL:Food - It's still a new taste we can consider. If ever you order the brisket, eat it right away so it will not dry up.Price - Slightly pricey but very reasonable, due to imported ingredients and how long they put effort in cooking it. It's nice to treat yourself every once in a while.Serving - The serving goes with the pricing. I can't say it's generous or a bit small. It was ok for me.Parking - They have a parking space for their customers, not in front of the restaurant but walking distance.Ambiance - It was great! I love the interiors, it was only a tad dark. Maybe if they add more lights then it's perfect.
