Chef Ariel Manuel's idea of putting up 3 restaurant all on the same building is quite a risky move but it gives people options. If your up for a bistro experience that serves contemporary cuisine then Bistro Manuel is for you. While, Taperia Poblacion is a casual dining restaurant serving fusion of Filipino and Spanish cuisines. Lastly, there's also The Sippery Bar and Brew a place where you can hang out with friends. We were invited by Jace to try what Taperia Poblacion has to offer. Among the foods that tops my list are:  Pinxtos - are breads with different toppings on it. I liked the Baked Brie Cheese because CHEESE! But I find it quite pricey since the bread is they used looks and taste like the complimentary bread to some restaurant. But let's give the toppings a chance might be pricey. 😂Tapas - are mixture of dishes on their menu including meats and veggies. Here are my top choices:Salmon Ahumado Crepe Ensalada - the anchovy dressing blends well with smoked salmon and lettuce. Crepe add texture which is good too.Manchego Cheese and Fresh Pear - this salad is cool the shaved cheese and fresh pear on walnut dressing is a nice idea.US Rib Eye Salpicao - is a good salpicao that you should try too. Mustard and garlic is pair! 😊Lamb aceitunas - this is lamb breast with tapenade. Rich flavor! Among the favorites of my co bloggers.Arroz Valenciana and Arroz En Su Tinta - are your paella with pinoy twist. I liked the Arroz En Su Tinta, because of the salty flavor of the ink. They also have a variant for Tinta where they used pasta instead of rice. Their serving size is quite generous too. Valenciana have meat toppings while Tinta have seafood toppings.Espagueti A La Bolonesa - is good as well to with generous servings. For the dessert, they served cup cake size with different flavors. Among them are:Brazo De Mercedes - baked meringue. Not extremely sweet. Quite right for its price.MagdalenasBrune Butter and Chocolate Truffle - both good but serving size is quite small if based from the price point. They sold it for P180 per cup cake. In a nutshell, my dining experience with Taperia Poblacion is great! My taste buds are fully satisfied. Although some of us find it confusing to locate the place but I think it's part of the experience that you exert an effort just to be there. It's worth it because the foods served are of good quality. The bonus part is you have 2 other options if you don't feel like eating Spanish cuisines. All are headed by Chef Ariel so expect quality.

Taperia Poblacion established in 2016 offering Filipino-Spanish Cuisine. Suited in Makati and founded by Chef Ariel Manuel. The interior looks surprising because of the colorful walls and paintings. The place looks huge that can accommodate big groups. I can say that there is a strict competition of restaurant in Makati. You have to have the plus factor and quality that can stand out among others. I can testify that Taperia Poblacion can compete with the market. Its own uniqueness and the authenticity of the dishes. Here are the foods that captured my attention:US Rib Eye Salpicao – highly recommend dish. I like how they properly prepared and cooked the meat. Well-seasoned. Perfect paired with wine. For the Pintxos, top of my choice is the smoked salmon and egg pimiento. Very high in protein (I’m counting the protein content, hehehe). You can also try Fried Jamon and Macheego Cheese for P60/pc, Baked Brie Cheese with Sobrasada for P 65/pc, Sauteed, Angulas and Shrimp for P 65/pc, Carabao’s Milk Cheese and Tomato for P 50/pc and Mackerel Sardine for P55/pc.Paella is a classic Spanish cuisine, a must try is the Arroz En Su Tinta. I was stunned because it was not the usual paella. Instead of using rice, they used their homemade pasta and the secret to a tasty and successful paella dish is the squid ink.I haven’t tried their desserts but according to my dear friends, a must try is their Brune Butter and Chocolate Truffle. Will definitely visit again to try their desserts ☺Overall, my dining experience with Taperia is outstanding. Not just for the food but also for the whole crew who assisted us.

I am still asking myself, “Why now?” Why did I just learn about this restaurant now? Why not sooner? Why not as soon as it opened its doors circa 2016? It’s probably because I was busy with my life (all aspects of it) and I didn’t have the time to explore Poblacion itself or, perhaps, it was lacking good marketing that time. I don’t know! What I’m sure about is that Taperia Poblacion is one heck of a restaurant serving Filipino-Spanish dishes that brings heaven to you!

Tucked somewhere in the food district of Poblacion, Makati City, TAPERIA POBLACION is the Spanish-Filipino restaurant concept by Chef Ariel Manuel, a multi-awarded chef and the man behind Lolo Dad's Fine Dining Restaurant. Wine and dine from Arroz to pastas.Tapas to Gambas.Steaks to bakes.🏖 AMBIENCE: For me this is what they have to work on. I find the ambience of the place kind of dark. Since having good lighting even if artifical, can help brighten the place to make it more attractive for customers who value the look of the resto and it also in making the photos and videos of the food they serve look good.🍽 FOOD & 🍹DRINKS:Dishes that caught the attention of my tongueGambas w/ Almonds (P395) Pimenton Shrimps in garlic and olive oil. Callos (P390) Braised ox tripe and beef tendon that has flavorful sauce that really goes well with it. It can be your pulutan too if you want.Seafood Pasta En Su Tinta (P440) Generous serving of squid, shrimp, mussels and scallops on top of the pasta laden with squid ink.Fried Jamon and Manchego Cheese (P60/pc.) Among their Pintxos, this is my favorite. Ham is really tasty and the cheese that works well with the ham.💆‍♂️ SERVICE:Good service. :)🚳 PARKING:This is the part that I’m not sure since I am a #TeamCommute person. Haha!🌏 OVERALL:Kinda of a little bit pricey for me. But indeed all of the food that were served were good din talaga. :)

I’ve always been fascinated with Spanish Cuisines as their ingredients are mostly my favorites such as tomatoes, tapas, jamon, cheese, rice and a lot more. They’re also close to our local cuisine so there would not be much of an adjustment with our taste buds. Taperia Poblacion provides dishes that will satisfy your Spanish-Filipino palate. Not only that it’s authentic in flavors but it’s also affordable. Located in Poblacion, exactly at Second Floor, Six Axis Center, it’s a spot for different restaurants in Makati but what stood out with them is the Chef Ariel Manuel. Previously owner and Chef of Lolo Dad’s, he now manages Taperia Poblacion and making wonders in the Kitchen. Please visit my website for full review :)
