Sometimes Inday just wants to park her toque and apron . On those days , I  allow the piggery freedom to choose the food they want delivered. Majority wins of course. Oh btw, I am Inday ( cum housekeeper cum chef cum baker cum website cum blogger , etc). Yes this mom and all moms for that matter wear many hats mostly at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking hahaha.Anyway back to Tapa King and their delivery. So  the boys  had tapa king (original flavor), grampa had his tapa queen (sweet and spicy) and Inday had smoked bangus.I must say Tapa King was pretty satisfying and delicious and mura (cheap) too

It is always nice and comforting to eat at Tapa King. This particular branch has been in Glorietta even  before they had the renovation. They boast that their tapa comes from Batangas beef, and for me, that is already a "plus" since they are using a Filipino homegrown product. The venue is conveniently located at the ground floor of the Link building, just across from Landmark Dept store. The place itself has pleasant staff, you order from the counter and they will serve you on your table. Next to the counter is the condiments table where you can get your table wares and condiments like sinamak vinegar, etc.I always order the Tapa Queen which is their sweet and spicy version. The tapa is very tender and juicy with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. The fried egg was a bit crispy brown at the bottom, it's not my ideal fried egg, but its ok with me. The sinangag (garlic fried rice) was a bit dry for my liking, with rice "clusters" making the rice not evenly flavored with the garlic. This was a bit of a let down, since garlic rice is not really hard to make. The meal came with soup, which was a clear beef broth with chopped scallions on top. Drinks are extra, a choice of iced tea, juice, sago gulaman or soda. There were other Filipino comfort foods on the menu, like champorado, arroz caldo, leche flan, turon. Incidentally, when I was eating my dinner here, there was a sudden downfall of heavy rains. So i was stuck temporarily in this place since I didn't have an umbrella with me. So i ordered Hot MILO chocolate to sip while waiting for the rain to stop. The hot drink was a bit watered down, giving it a weakened flavor, but since it was only Php 25 a cup, I guess it was kinda ok.

It was the holiday rush when we went here, to my surprise the place is not crowded.Since my partner have a great love for tapsilog he ordered their tapa King while me, I’ve ordered their pancit palabok, mais con yelo and leche flan. The place is quite small and sad to say they have very limited ventilation. They use one fan on the middle and I think one AC is open. All of their staff were accommodating. When I first have a taste of the palabok I told myself Jollibee serves better pancit palabok. It’s not worth the price for 80php. The sauce was overflowing but it has no meet, no chicharon and the sauce taste bland.Their Tapa taste good but I’d rather eat in small tapsilogan rather here. The taste does not justify the cost. The mais con yelo is also a disappointment, only few corn and the ice is not so finely crushed. Since it is a dessert I was expecting something sweet, but sad to say they served us sugar, I think they knew that it's not sweet. My partner used to tell me that before the place served one of the best tapsi.I hope I was able to experience it.

Tapa King is famous for its tapa but I just find their tapa good enough. What makes me go back here is actually their beef kare-kare. For the amount of P135, you'd get a decent amount of kare-kare. Try it!

What we ordered was not really our Tapa King staple. We were on a low carb diet so we settled on a pork and veggie dish. The sinigang was just so-so. It will not take you to places but the meat was tender and the veggies were cooked just right. The kangkong was salty but the softness for cooking it in soy sauce was OK. The champorado tasted like your store bought White King champorado package.#ShalliReturn to Tapa King?
