There is nothing special about their food. Their bestseller which is the U.S Beef Isaw doesn’t tastes so good. Also, it is one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced!! The servers weren’t welcoming and kinda rude. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

I don't know if it was a case of ordering the wrong dishes, but of everything, their Kimchi Rice was the only dish that I liked. I found the US Beef Rib Finger to be bland, the Chicken Gizzard to be extremely dry, and the US Beef Isaw to have a weird sour aftertaste.Perfectly situated in the border of the Poblacion area, Tambai offers affordable food and drinks good for pre-game. Unfortunately, taste-wise, it didn't offer too much.

Tambai used to be our go-to place even before Poblacion became the it street. We loved the reasonably priced and delicious food and the friendly staff. Imagine our disappointment when we visited recently and everything we loved before was gone. The yakitori's flavor and taste is lacking, the japanese fried rice was so watery like porridge, and the waitstaff was snobbish and seems forced to take our order. Hope they improve their customer service and food quality but for the mean time, we'll pass on eating here. :(

The best streetfood-style yakitori spot this side of town! I keep coming back for their Beef Isaw, Wagyu sticks, Beef Rib Fingers and pair them with Bacon wrapped quail eggs & Garlic with basil. Truly a chill “tambayan” where you can enjoy your cold beers along an alley and get your grilled beermatch fresh from the kitchen. First time I tried their soft shelled crab last night. I preferred it with less sauce so we ordered it twice. Yum! Cheers guys :)

A new favorite for me and all my friends. Not that obvious at first with its quaint and dimmed exterior but once inside, can be a nice hangout place with yakitori and beer.

Tambai named as it is is really a good place to make tambai. Tried their yakitori, quail eggs wrapped in bacon and ice cold beer. I don’t recommend super big groups (10 above) here because the place is quite too small. Its simple and affordable! :)

Tambai is a street side isaw/yakitori concept with wooden tables and stools on the outside. It sort of reminds me of those we used to frequent in the streets of bangkok and vietnam. While the food is a bit more expensive for your usual street food fare, its clean and delicious. We ordered the beef isaw, chicken, and wagyu sticks. These sticks were tasty and honestly, a bit addicting. Its too bad that their quite pricey.

Simple yet satisfying. Cool place to get your yakitori fix with a bottle of beer. What’s more awesome is that you can cross-order from next door. They crew is super polite and helpful. Coming back for more.

Tambay: to hang or hangout.Poblacion is known to be a growing food town, with great little food places. Tambai is one of them. Honestly, never been to Tambai, until recently. But I have been into Tambai Alley and have tried the other restos--Wantusawa and Ebi 10. Both of which are very good, so I decided to give Tambai a go.Yakitori and kushikatsu are both stick foods and cheap street foods in Japan. Here in the Philippines however, both of them are served at Japanese restos, and can be quite pricey for many. Not at Tambai.Prices are actually doable for such foods. Plus it is also a great place to hang whether alone or with friends after work. I guess it is also in a way, like an izakaya. Hence the word Tambai. It is actually tambay with that Japanese twist to its name.I was torn with what to order. If I could, I would have ordered the entire menu. LOL! Seriously! With that said, I ordered a stick each of the US Pork, Roast Garlic Basil, US Beef Rib Finger and Tofuyaki, all accompanied with an order of Kimchi Fried Rice.US Pork: Awesome flavor! Not sure what sauce they put on top, but I think it was miso based. I wish I knew beforehand how yummy it was, so I would've ordered the lakitori/bigger stick. Now I know, for next time.US Beef Rib Finger: I asked if they had wagyu sticks, and they said the this was their version of it. Not exactly wagyu in my opinion. It had a slight chew to it, with a small melt in your mouth feel, but still very tender. Real beef that's for sure. Love the sauce they glazed on it, and obviously the fat that dripped off onto the plate. I lickedit clean with my finger. 😂😋❤️Roast Garlic Basil: This one took me by surprise. Super duper good! I can say that it was my fave amongst everything that I ordered. Now wishing I ordered a 2nd or even a 3rd one. Again... Now I know, for next time.Tofuyaki: The only fried stick that I ordered. I love tofu, and it is hard to find a yummy dish for something generally bland. This stick is amazing! Perfectly crispy, and the sauces on top of it packed a lot of flavor, making everything yummy.Kimchi Fried Rice: Good, but I wanted it to be a little more sour. But then more sour is how I like my kimchi, and not everyone likes it that way. Great to eat with every stick that I ate.At the end, I enjoyed my meal very much, I just really wish they had some sodas as I am not one to drink alcohol. Then again, Tambai is a drnking place, that has limited space to store inventory fir something that will probably sell the least. Now I am wondering if I can bring in my own soda without being charged a corkage fee. 🤔Food: 5.0 - Really good! Everything I ordered was delish.Price: 5.0 - Pocket friendly.Service: 5.0 - Friendly staff. They noticed I was a PWD, and served my food instead of the usual pick up at the counter window.Ambience: 5.0 - Love the entire vibe of this simple and air-conditioned hole-in-the-wall. The usage of beer delivery boxes is very useful as table support.Surely coming back soon. I will try out other things as well as my next times. 👍🏻😊

Limited seating capacity but I’m always willing to wait! Top food picks: US pork, Chicken Liver, Onion Leeks, Garlic, Tofuyaki and Kimchi fried rice. They also serve Barik if you want some Lambanog fix.
