We decided to dine here after work since it's the first Japanese Restaurant we saw. Upon entering, you could really feel the Japanese ambience. As for the food, we ordered Curry Rice with soup and Vegetables and asked the server what kind of meat is included in the curry and was told that beef is included. After the food being served, we got disappointed. The curry doesn't even have chunks of beef. For it's price at 450, I could have ate at the same price in other Japanese restau (like Yabu, Maisen or Cocoichibanya) with pork, chicken or beef katsu. It was like I'm eating a canned curry. Imagine those canned goods said to be Caldereta or Adobo and all you got is sauce and a few strips of beef. In this case, it's just curry sauce and potato & carrots. Although, the curry sauce is delicious. It's not just worth for the price. We end up ordering more... california roll and shrimp tempura (ebi fry). The california roll and tempura are both average.

Quite average when it comes to their food. Excellent in terms of their  interior and service. Only tried soba, I think I have to try more from their menu to fully have a Sugi experience. But for now, I am giving them a 3.5 😄 FOOD:   3.5/5.0  🌟🌟🌟🌟PLACE/LOCATION:   4.0/5.0  🌟🌟🌟🌟SERVICE:  4.0/5.0  🌟🌟🌟🌟

We ordered tuna/maguro and salmon sashimi. The tuna was delicious as usual, but the salmon sashimi was absolutely perfect! It was deliciously soft and tasted very fresh. We also ordered rice, tempura, and mackerel, which were all good. The gindara was heavenly, and its sauce was very flavorful. The staff were nice and accommodating, though we had to ask for tea thrice before they served it. It was a busy night though and the food was really good, so we overlooked that.

Sugi is one of my family's well-loved spots. The taste and quality are consistent. Although prices have been increasing through the years, the food and the service justify that anyway. So we keep coming back. Didn't get to take photos of all the food since they were consumed rather quickly. Sushi is always reliable and they make amazing sushi rice. Pictured is the chirashi matsu, ebi and kakiage tempura and chicken teppan. I also recommend their futo maki, radish sprout salad, spicy tuna salad, shiitake mushroom tempura, unaju, etc etc.

They always have good quality fish and the service is great. When Im not in the mood for sushi, my favorite is Kaki Gyuniku Steak. Beef + Bacon + Oysters in sauce. A+

When the Greenhills branch was alive, I used to always find myself in Sugi whenever a celebration is called for. With hopes of reminiscing, I decided to go all the way to Greenbelt to dine in Sugi. I didn’t come with high expectations, considering their current condition as compared to before. With my expectations being not so high, I was still quite disappointed. The atmosphere was dull, and the vibe was not comparable to that of Sugi before and to other famous Japanese restaurants for that matter. As for the food, we didn’t get to order most of the dishes we would always get. But, from what we ordered, as seen in the photos, I was disappointed as well. The Teppanyaki steak didn’t match the steak before. There was really nothing special about their Salmon Cheese Maki. The Teppanyaki sets were also mediocre.

This is the place where I started loving Salmon Sashimi. Back when they had a branch in Greenhills, I appreciated Salmon. I always chomped on Tuna and was disgusted on Salmon prior to the Sashimi experience here. This is one of the up-to-par Japanese restaurants in the Philippines. It is super hard to compete with a palette that’s been to Japan but they can do so. Surely, they are able to invite my tongue back to Japan.

Consistently serving great Japanese dishes, a no fail resto that delivers all the time. Dont miss their tenderloin tepanyaki, Hamachi sashimi, zaru soba and kani spring roll. Friendly staff and food is served promptly. Itadakimasú!

Both the exterior and interior scream Japan! Their ebi tempura is small, not quite the bigger shrimp I was expecting. Tenderloin steak and salmon cheese maki are amazing! So is their miso soup. Not quite fond of the red miso though.
