A few weeks ago, I had lunch with my colleagues near our office building. After that sumptuous meal, we all decided to have coffee at the nearest Starbucks branch. We ordered all the new Christmas cakes that it is offering this year.WHITE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE CHEESECAKE – this light and smooth cheesecake is topped with a white chocolate truffle for that added holiday feelCHOCOLATE CREPE CAKE – with the influx of multi-layered (mille) crepes shops in the metro these past few months, Starbucks came up with its own version, this time using chocolate crepes and filling instead of vanilla or custard. This cake has seventeen layers of crepes, with Belgian chocolate cream in between, and dusting of confectioner’s sugarDARK BELGIAN CHOCOLATE CAKE – this cake has layers of dark Belgian chocolate, mousse, meringue, and frosted dark Belgian chocolate. It also has a dusting of gold powder for that sparkly effect (too bad I wasn’t able to post a picture, as we had finished eating it before realizing I hadn’t taken a picture)BIRTHDAY CAKE – this vanilla cake is frosted with cream cheese, then dotted with colorful sprinkles (sorry, no picture)We also ordered the S’MORES CAKE. It has Graham cracker crumbs as base, chocolate chips, and molten marshmallows, and chocolate drizzle on topMy officemates and I were figuring out the best-flavored cake, based on which gets finished first. The order was: Dark Belgian Chocolate Cake, S’mores Cake, White Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake, Chocolate Crepe Cake, and Birthday Cake was last. If I were to solely judge, though, I would have almost the same order except that I would interchange the Chocolate Crepe Cake and the S’mores Cake. Still, the Dark Belgian Chocolate Cake is the star this 2015.

A friendly place in the city around Makati in this kind of hot weather, cozy seats and good ambiance to stay while drinking tea. The music suits their location of the SB branch.

Your typical Starbucks branch. They have a good seating capacity but their seats are a bit worn out. Also, during my visit, the baristas were talking about skin infection which is so odd and alarming. If one of them have that then they shouldn't really be serving food............
