We had our lunch at Spices, Peninsula Manila. This restaurant is a mix of Asian and Indian food. I was really excited to eat baked tiger prawns because it looks so mouthwatering from photos. Most of their food are good for sharing. They also serve service rice. My colleagues ordered pad thai, nasi goreng, biryani rice, rolls, tanigue and others. Of course, I tried them all. For the dessert, I tried pandan crepe and sticky rice with mango. For my drink, I ordered yogurt with mango.

It is such a pleasure to stay at the Peninsula in central Manila close to everything on business trips. The hotel has its own great glass walled restaurant by the pool area offering high quality continental and local cuisine making special occasion dinners memorable

Well, everything was fine. Their customer service is good and they really were attentive. You get what you pay for. The only thing is... Their Australian Beef isn't Australian. I knew because I ate with my boss who's an Aussie. But all in all? Cool cool cool. :)

Great food and excellent service but unnecessarily expensive.Spices is definitely one of those overly posh places. Locates at the ground floor of the Manila Peninsula, its target market is mainly the guests staying at the hotel. The ambiance is quite serene and relaxing and the service is top notch. Nothing less than what you'd expect from a beautiful hotel such as the Manila Peninsula. The food itself is also great. Being a big fan of Indian food, this is probably one of the best places I've been to that serves carefully crafted Indian dishes. However, I feel that authentic Indian food should not be this posh. Indian food is all about experiencing not the the flavors but the dining experience (like eating with your hands).I also found the dishes overly expensive. Quite natural considering their target audience but still... It's not all unaffordable for the working professional but paying exorbitant amounts for food you can get for a quarter of the price seem excessive by principle.

Worst hotel resto for vegan patrons. Messaged ahead to ask if they can accommodate vegan diners, and they said yes. Fast forward to today and they can't make the simple substitution of taking out ghee in their dal curry, aka the only plant-based protein option in their menu. Settled for the veggie biryani and the flavorless veggie stir fry sans oyster sauce. If they can't handle a simple request such as this, what about more complicated tailored requests? Go elsewhere.
