I visited Sofrito for an instant dinner after obtaining a haircut from the barbershop upstairs on a single building. Since it has been raining, I purchased a plate of asopao and empanada. I discover the soup bowl to end up being too little for the purchase price; tasteis very easy. The empanada I purchased appeared and tasted re-fried. I had been supposed to get some good pastries for desserts but transformed my mind. Affordability in this cafe is low. Just redeeming factor of the restaurant may be the pleasant service of the waiting staff. True to its title, food inside Sofrito feels and tastes home-cooked (that's, when your good home cook is on holiday).

Thought the place only a wee little bit pricey provided the elements and the environment but I still left not minding it. Could sample a few meals because we were an organization. Mofongo, empanada... Still left with an excellent impression of the area. Somebody inthat kitchen actually loves to cook!

I found the joint while jogging along the street searching for a spot to eat at specifically noon. Got it, had been smiling when I noticed the menus.. I'm no blogger, I simply eat so I'll lower it brief. My companions got major dishes and gota lovely empanada coz I has been having espresso.. Imagine how good it will likely be. I tried all of those other food, it had been satisfying. Doesn't look quite though.. Therefore came in my own empanaditas.. Cute coz it's little.. Took a bite and the pastry had been starchy natural! RAW! It isn't gonna eliminate me but seriously... Sent it back again to cook it more, also it was still natural. Bottom line, have a small amount of care if not really an increased standard coz individuals pay to consume. Will I keep coming back? No... I didn't get my money's worthy of. I wish them good fortune though coz I love the concept.

Authentic Puerto Rican around! Mofongos are great! Their edition of a Cubano sandwich can be excellent. Their drink selection isn't that interesting though. Costs are not cheap, however, not expensive either.

The only real Puerto Rican food I've tasted is cubano sandwich and I have to say, their helping is true good :) Mofongo balls (with chicharon) and freshly cooked poultry soup are my recommendations too. Met the proprietors within my visit-a Puerto Rican woman and aFilipino gentleman, a short conversation put into the Puerto Rican sense of the resto.

I've been surviving in Asia today for 4 years right now and I never discovered a "Puerto Rican" rest. I visited manila for holiday and I made a decision to search the net for a Caribbean taste and "Sofrito" emerged up, So I made a decision to check out itout, and the area was a little difficult to find, also the Cab driver obtained lost, but ultimately we discovered it, the area is decent size as being a little bakery would appear to be back Puerto Rico therefore i was sensation the vibe, just a little salsa enjoying as well therefore the ambience is great. Now the menus, there was plenty of unavailable food type the menu, just like the arroz con salchicha, arroz con pollo etc; The waitress explained what "Sofrito" had obtainable and there wasn't too much to choose from. I proceeded to go pastelillitos de carne witch these were good, very great and with the Mofongo con Camarones (Shrimp), display was average, today for the flavor, the Mofongo had been super salty , for me personally it was very difficult to keep consuming it and for my girlfriend aswell, the rice and coffee beans well it had been "ok" the rice small hard and the coffee beans very little flavor, there was not really potatoes or pumpkin inside it or nothing simply plain coffee beans with sauce portion pretty good, very decent. Then from then on painful lunch we visited dessert we purchase queso frito and guava(fried cheese and guava) however they didn't acquired it so we proceeded to go with "tres leches" initially it tasted great but it got too nice for my flavor, we obtained a free of charge hat and the purchase price was okay? I thin, the full total cost has been around $20 us. They will have plenty of room for enhancement so hopefully they progress. Now in the event that you feel like you require a haircut both guys and woman , they will have a good barbershop/salon, upstairs really fancy and incredibly nice place, cheap as well and for your package I wouldn't thoughts keep going there to obtain a haircut, but anyways many thanks for reading and revel in eating.

Love arriving at Sofrito to possess their Cuban sandwich and Asapao (poultry soup). We discover these dishes comforting and incredibly delicious! Possess tried a few other products on the menus but those didn't actually hit home therefore we adhere to what we like. Theplace is quite cozy and generally not packed. Service is great and foods is served hot. Big portions rather than very pricey. Nice location for meals - wish I possibly could rate this a 3.5/5.

If you are acquainted with empanadas or are curious to learn what they flavor like, this is actually the place. Empanadas are located in lots of countries in SOUTH USA and the Caribbean, plus they ay vary in type and stuffing from spot to location, but whenyou come in Asia you will not easily find them therefore this is an excellent spot to go and attempt them, they're filling and yummy. There is also other dishes that could leave you satisfy.
