On the third floor of Greenbelt 3, a new restaurant from the Bistro Group has ignited a revolution in the modern Filipino food scene. “Siklab” successfully brings fresh perspective to classic Filipino dishes and has truly taken our beloved local favorites a notch higher.Of its many gastronomic offerings, I was fortunate enough to have a sample of the following:1. Chicken Barbecue: This is Siklab’s signature dish. I enjoyed the grilled yet moist texture of the chicken. The dry rub added distinct spicy character to the barbecue. Highly recommended.2. Grilled Tuna Belly: Boneless, Tender and Fiery. Goes well with their soy sauce, chilies and calamansi sauce.3. Lechon Kawali: Deep fried pork belly roughly chopped into bite size pieces. Adds that porky crunch to any meal.4. Ginataang Kuhol: Excellent appetizer. The chewy snail morsels, together with the coconut milk tasted a bit like small beef ligaments cooked in fatty bone marrow. Picking it with toothpick doubles the fun in eating it. Highly recommended.5. Turon 2.0: Best interpretation of a classic. Five mini-turon cones served on a half cracked bamboo pole. Inside the sugar –crusted turon-cone was the delightful layer of in-house made langka ice cream, macapuno and ube ice cream. 2.0 thumbs up! Highly recommended.6. Biko: Served with thick chocolate “frosting”, chocolate powder and coconut cream wrapped in pandan leaves. Best taken with their brewed coffee. Aside from the sumptuous food, I enjoyed the clean and cozy vibe of the place. The staff were also attentive and pleasant. What made the experience even more wonderful was the company of two funny and certified website ladies in Ms. Kate and Ms. Franz. Thank you to Siklab (Bistro Group) and the rest of the team.

I loved their Kuhol sa Gata, it truly is a must-try. If you're looking for something more familiar with a twist, try the Sisig with pita wrap or Crispy Pata. Also, you can never go wrong with their Crispy Bacon Belly. And of course, their Turon 2.0 is a real surprise and to-die-for! Definitely eating here again!

Siklab puts enough of a twist on its food to keep it traditional yet interesting - something to look forward to for diners who want good ‘ol quality Filipino food. Their menu is simple which I appreciate because it’s easy to order. It covers the Filipino food staples and a number of unique items like the well-reviewed TURON 2.0. Among the dishes I had was the BARBQ CHICKEN which they’re very proud of - and with good reason. I loved it! It’s got that smokiness and overall tenderness with skin both crisp and soft in all the right parts. I also liked how the pieces I got were practically boneless. The chicken is marinated for 6 hours so expect it to be tasty. Atsara would be perfect with this. Anyway, the best part is that it’s grilled in such a way that it is cooked in its own fat, resulting to a non-fatty yet juicy end-product. This is good news for foodies like myself who “try” to be “healthy.” The BINAGOONGANG LIEMPO was lighter than expected. The meat was tender and the skin, light and crunchy - not hard to bite into at all. The eggplant does a nice job balancing the flavors in this one. Interestingly, the KARE-KARE was served in a stone pot so it was still boiling minutes after serving. Again, the meat in this one was soft. At this point, I was begging for softdrinks (next time, next time).I’m definitely coming back to try the other dishes because thus far, there’s nothing I’ve disliked. Crispy Bacon Belly, anyone?Siklab is located at the 3rd floor of Greenbelt 3, a few steps from T.G.I.Friday’s, another Bistro Group creation.*Attached photos of food are less than actual order sizes.

Serving size is small. Service crew not accommidating. But I like their crunchy pork sisig. Sorry but won't be coming back.
