We decided to go to Makati and have lunch and we stumbled upon sekitori. I've ask if what time they will open they said 12noon but it is stated in the door that it's 1130. We've waited for the opening. When we ordered they enforced us to order on the lunch menu and not on the ala carte menu. So we've ordered items in the lunch menu, I've ordered the tonkotsu tsukemen. Food is great service is so so. I would like to try sometime in the future the chanko nabe in their menu

Got the beef short ribs lunch set. Came with salad, pickled chinese cabbage, chicken and radish stew, fresh pineapple, tofu (topped with bonito, scallions and ginger), and udon noodles (can choose to get it hot or cold or to get miso soup instead). Beef was xefinitely the star of the show. Rich, fatty and very flavorful. The pickled cabbage helps cut through the richness. Udon was really tasty, noodles were chewy and broth waa packed with umami. Didn't like the tpfu as much. Not as jampacked as kikufuji but i actually prefer that. It's more comfortable.

Okayish food but slow serviceFood was okay but the service was so slow that the first dish was cold upon receiving the second one. Would go back but maybe they can improve on it

Authentic Japanese Hot Pot cooked in front of you. The soup really captures the essence of all the ingredients. Can't help but go back again and again in this place.

LITTLE TOKYO FOODTRIP: Homemade NoodlesI had been craving so hard for some Little Tokyo grub yesterday that I ended up pulling together a group of my co-workers to have dinner with me there. My stomach was set Sekitori and its apparently homemade udon noodles. The five or us arrived around 7pm for dinner and the place seemed somewhat empty, but it turned out that there were just several reservations. When we left almost two hours later, the place was packed - mostly with Japanese patrons.Design-wise, the interiors have a very classic charm to them. The space appears a bit cramped but actually has several rooms. They have a few booths with elevated seating but most tables are the low traditional zashiki style tables, where you sit on pillows on the floor and have to take off your shoes before entering. We opted for the non-smoking section.Service-wise, the waitresses are all dressed in kimonos with their hair styled in a bun. It was interesting because of all the Little Tokyo restaurants I've been to so far, it was the first time for me to see this. I found the level of service a bit inconsistent though. Our server had a bit of a difficult time explaining all the dishes we asked about. When she managed to though, she had quite vague and unhelpful descriptions. Throughout the meal, it was also a bit difficult to call their attention from time to time.NOTE: I highly appreciate though that our server informed us that the menus DO NOT include 10% Service Charge and 12% VAT - so this would be included in our final bill. (It wouldn't have been nice to gotten this as a surprise at the end of our meal.)Food-wise, we ordered a bunch of stuff individually but shared most:Wasabi Tako Salad Our appetizer. It may look unappealing at first but it's a refreshing starter! Basically it is octopus sashimi mixed with a cold vinegar and wasabi dressing. It didn't have that wasabi kick we liked, but this was easily remedied by adding an extra dollop.Hiyashi Kitsune Udon (P280) My order of cold wheat udon noodles. Serving size was quite big and good for two people. It came in a bowl filled with sweet soy sauce. The toppings were a mix of fried tofu, green onion shoots, tamago and seaweed. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the dish was tasty and filling!Tonkotsu Tsukumen (P320)The order of this was humongous! It was a giant dish with about 2/3 of thick noodles and 1/3 of mixed vegetables. Tsukemen is a dipping noodle dish and the tonkotsu dipping broth it came with was not at all salty but flavorful with hints of egg. Tempura Udon (P320)The bowl it came in was quite deep, so again a big serving. The clear broth came filled with wheat udon noodles and topped with green onions, seaweed, two pieces of shrimp tempura and some tempura fried vegetables.Sara Udon (P290)Ordering this had a "double" option or a bigger serving. My colleague was glad to have gotten the single because it was still very big. Served on a hot plate, it had crunchy noodles piled with vegetables, chicken and some seafood. We enjoyed it but I found it okay.Tori Nanban (P180)Basically a fried chicken dish of about three good-sized pieces covered with a seasoned Japanese mayonnaise sauce. It was a group favorite and was almost instantly demolished!Koebi no Karaage (P160)Another group favorite that was another three pieces of chicken with a sweet sauce that reminded me of barbecue flavor. It had a nice crunch with every bite. Another recommended dish!Sekitori Gyanko for 2-3 persons (P750)Out of curiosity, we opted to try this hotpot dish as a group simply because it was what our server said was their best-seller. Ironically, we ended up wishing we never ordered it. The broth was like slightly flavored water and had a tasteless vegetables, some chicken, shrimp and crab. It came with a dipping sauce that did nothing to improve it. In one word, this dish was "BLEH" and I'm never going to have it again.Plus a few beers, our bill ended up totaling to roughly P3,190 when the SC and VAT were included. Split five ways, it was P638  but I ended up paying nothing because my co-workers surprised me by saying the meal was on them. Hihi. Over-all, I am giving this establishment 3.5 for my initial impression. They have good udon noodles and chicken dishes, but their best-seller ended up being the worst thing we had. The other dishes were average and the service was a little below that. I would recommend this place to friends though and might come back to try their value-for-money udon lunch specials sometime.

We went here on a whim upon seeing the menu outside, while checking out restaurants for lunch. The Japanese owner showed us to our table during our visit. We were happy we tried it out because they have good lunch sets and hot udon. I got the hire katsudon lunch set, and the appetizers that came with their set (pickled carrots and turnips, egg salad, cabbage), as well as their hot udon are good. Their udon noodles are thick and freshly made, and the soup is really good. The hire katsudon is tasty, and their sauce already has sesame seeds (a plus for me). The pork is tender and well fried, my husband and myself really liked it. The set came with a side of cabbage salad. We will go back because of the udon, and I want to try their soba, too. This is a hidden gem and is worth a visit. What we really didn't like though, and it was such a huge turn off, were the staff shouting amongst themselves within our earshot, which feels like we were not dining in a good restaurant. I hope the management does something about this.

It is a rare customary for Japanese restaurants nowadays, especially here in Manila to require customers from removing their shoes before going inside the dining area. So this is already one remarkable aspect of Sekitori that makes it interesting to eat there. The food is gratifying in terms of the serving and quality. However, the service was disappointing because of its extremely slow pace, probably due to limited staffing. I would still recommend dining at Sekitori because of the food and ambiance.

I went here with my bff, we just walked along the chino roces st to reach the little tokyo, yup we looked very haggard when we got there. The staff is very nice, the place is like a house in tokyo, and dont forget the food. The food is good for sumo 😂 big serves indeed, good thing we share orders. Mine is Pork ramen and hers is Tempura bento, which is full plater. Thumbs up for the great service.
