First time to experience a 5 course dinner at Sage Bespoke Grill Makati Shangri-La, Manila 🇨🇦Thank you website for the invite! The dinner is aptly named after the seasons of Canada. It begins with SPRING with a Canadian beef consomme with vegetables and truffle. Then comes SUMMER, which features an appetizing combination of seafood and meat, coupled with the use of what is fascinatingly called “The Three Sisters”. Then FALL, which highlights the mouth watering preparation of chuck and rib eye cuts. We tried the beef chucks 2 ways and wood grilled prime ribeye. Then finally WINTER, which caps the whole journey with pumpkin spice sticky toffee pudding with dark beer sorbet and dried fruits and nuts. Try also their wine pairing 🍷Check out also their newest bar— Botanika#Canadas4Seasons #SageBespokeGrill #MakatiShangrilaExperience

We decided to splurge at Makati Shang 's steak resto for a mini celebration. Sage stood up to it's reputation as a premier steak resto in the metro. I started with my usual Ceaser Salad and coffee before moving on to steak and wine. The salad was good. Onion soup was ok.The best part of the meal was, of course, the steak. We got 400g Wagyu Ribeye done medium. Very juicy and flavorful. The sides we had - buttered corn and mashed potatoes - were ok. Banana Pudding, our dessert, was ok.Steak alone was great worth a 5/5. But the soup and dessert brings it down to a 4.

I went here with my parents for my graduation lunch wth the intent of having a hearty and flavorful western cuisine experience. It did not disappoint. Of course, the feeling of being in Makati Shangri-La added to the whole experience! I wouldn't choose to comment on the prices per se since it would naturally be expected to be quite pricey, but it was an unforgettable experience! We ordered their asparagus soup, crab cakes, sea bass tartar, and their pata negra for our starters. All were delicious! Even their asparagus soup which was topped with fresh spring onions that added to the raw spring flavor, and I don't even like asparagus! Their crab cakes, and I've always been a fan of crab cakes, were unique! I always order crab cakes whenever it is offered, so I've tasted a couple, but theirs were refreshing! There are three decent sized crab cakes that sit on a certain sauce that I can't exactly pinpoint and each had a crown of strands of green mangoes that gave it a zesty flavor! As for their tartar, wasn't able to try much but the little I got was delicious. Lastly, their pata negra was smoky and delicious. They were served with two long breads topped with melted butter, tomatoes, and onions that when eaten together was a delicious experience of raw flavors in the mouth. My main was the lobster bisque risotto that was absolutely delicious! It was thick and flavorful with each bite simply satisfying my appetite. The prawns were cooked well and smoky and the scallops were bouncy and perfectly charred. It's the perfect place for celebrating life's milestones! Will definitely be back!

Went for a business lunch, and I got the 3-course set, priced at P1200++. Decided to not order the steak that day, and went for the Wagyu Carpaccio, Lobster Bisque Risotto and the warm apple dessert. As lunch sets usually go, they were served in smaller portions but I was very pleased with my first two courses. Very tasty, great plating and filling. Carpaccio had salad with it, and plenty of Parmesan cheese. The risotto came with one prawn and one scallop - good balance. Wasn't too happy about the apple dessert, as it was heavy and a little on the sour and chunky side.

Last week, I, Mr. Eats, embarked on a “Boys Night Out” EATSperience with fellow foodies at Sage Bespoke Grill in Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Yes, in a very rare occasion, I was alone to EATSperience something. No Mrs. Eats and no Baby Eats. As much as I missed their company, it was also refreshing to just simply have steak and a little bit of wine (not a good drinker) with friends on a weeknight. From the 1st of March until the 30th of April, everyone can enjoy their favorite cuts of steak paired with UNLIMITED wine at Sage Bespoke Grill. Yes, you read that right, just order any from the 5 different steaks and you may already avail of their unlimited wine promotion. So, if you love steak and wine, join me as I share my EATSperience of Sage Bespoke Grill’s Steak and Wine promo, enjoy!

I ate at this place recently and was not that impressed as I had been on my first visit. The starters were just ok and the service was slow and lacklustre despite the place being almost empty. Apart from the table next to us which was occupied by overload, overacting, giggling females who appeared to think they were in a Karaoke Bar and not a five star hotel. !The steaks were great but the lack of any management of the restaurant means that I will not return. !!

Instagram- @eatgoseeWe came to Sage because we were staying in the hotel. There was a group of 10 of us sitting enjoying cocktails before venturing out into Manila nightlife.Hotel cars can be a bit cookie-cutter. And while they are cookie-cutter recognisable elements of this bar, nonetheless it is executed to a very high standard and enjoyable whether in large groups, couples or solo. It’s too loud for business drinks or a meeting due to the live band. The service is very attentive and quick. The cocktail menu shows signs of imagination together with a carefully curated list of cocktails. The ambience is modern, slightly moody and not unrecognisably different to a piano bar meat cigar bar.If I came back to Manila I would gladly come back here even if I was not staying in the hotel. If you are in the area and you are looking for a more sophisticated drinking hole versus what can be found within a mile of the hotel Then I certainly recommend checking this place out.

Sage Bespoke Grill is very much how its described in its name, its an upscale, posh grill conveniently located at the mezzanine of the Makati Shang. The perfect place to have a great upscale meal if you enjoy a good lowkey almost private dinner in an upscale restaurant. The dim lighting and upscale interiors make it a great date place whether for casual or formal occassions. The mood makes you feel youre in a movie where a New York mobster dines right across the target their about to mow down. I ordered their australian grass fed angus tenderloin medium rare and it was perfect. The outsides had that slightly charred smoky taste and consistency encapsulating the juicy and savory meat underneath. It had the right amount of glorious succulent fat that creates great balance with the tender meat. The price tag compared with the quality, size and ambiance actually makes it a pretty good deal. The only thing Im not too sold on would be ube icecream I ordered I thought it was a little bland, although the mains certainly makes up for it.

I was expecting Shangrila level service from the wait staff. Nah, all they’re interested in is themselves. The lackluster and inattentive service took away my enjoyment of the good food.
