So what can we expect from Bruce Lim’s Rustique Kitchen? From my sneak peek at the menu; one can expect our casual and loved Filipino dishes each with their own modern twist. Rustique’s Kitchen Beef Steak Pasta Pasta in a creamy sauce with delicious sliced beef! This is a meal on it’s own!Rustique’s Kitchen Ldb and Duxelle It was like a very creamy soup that reminds me of corn and egg soup with hints of fish. I initially thought this was fish due to the softness as I had no idea that this had ox tongue until I read the description.Rustique’s Kitchen Grilled Ribeye SteakSteak cooked medium-rare or medium as I saw a lot of pink parts upon slicing through the steak. It was very soft and easy to chew! It does come with a gravy but who needs that when the flavor is already in the steak?Rustique’s Kitchen Sizzling Ox-Tail Kare-KareThis is a deconstructed kare-kare with all the ingredients separate from each other. I only tried the beef and . it was fork tender! The peanut sauce was light so it didn’t demand extra rice to go with it.Rustique’s Kitchen Pata FrittersNot just ordinary ground pork but shredded crispy pata turned into balls!Rustique’s Kitchen Baked Salmon SlabIt was said to be under-cooked thus the very soft and the melt in your mouth texture. It was like eating bangus belly in terms of softness.Rustique’s Kitchen Signature Buko Pie Buko pie.. but in a glass? What? Warm, creamy, sweet with hints of crunchiness at the top and bottom. Very delicious and unique!

3 Bistro Steak Sandwiches1 French Onion Soup2 Coffees————PHP 1100 (w/o coffee)~ PHP 1500PHP 1,500 for quality food, service, and ambiance - great in my book. This place is highly versatile. I can imagine having a romantic dinner here, taking a client to a meeting here, having a nice dinner with the family, or bonding with your girl friends for a fancy dinner out. They maximised the space quite well - and I always appreciate being able to see into the kitchen. It was a nice touch to see all the chefs/sous chefs/cooks behind the counter were also bald. It reminded me of how Max Brenner runs his kitchen. The service was good - I suggest for the servers to have a little bit more confidence, though. They seemed a little bit reserved and shy when talking to us to the point they were almost whispering. But they were good nonetheless.I catch a lot of little things when I’m dining - details that either ruin the meal or make it. This particular one, made it. We asked for the French Onion Soup to be separated into two bowls. I was expecting for them to merely transfer half onto a regular bowl. They came back with a whole new presentation, smaller bowls that fit half the soup perfectly. The presentation was just like I ordered two soups. I appreciated that.Rustique Kitchen gets a 4.5 because I left happy and incredibly full. Definitely going to come back for this dining experience. I hope it’s as good or better the next times around.

The interiors of Rustique Kitchen were marvelous. It can rival to those of hotel restaurants. Not to be intimidated with this elegant interior, Rustique Kitchen's dishes are quite affordable. Imagine a rib eye steak for less than a thousand?Order their steak and sample their Slab specials.  Chef Bruce Lim certainly did not disappoint us.

I can't breathe. I'm so full. Our meal at Rustique Kitchen was fabulous. I stuffed my face silly and now I can't breathe. The Tuna Salad Nicoise is a terrific starter. It's a hearty portion and you can be full from this. The sizzling kare kare is a must. A must. I haven't had kare kare this good in a long time. The meat just falls off the bone. The sauce is perfection. That tripe bagoong is a fun, yummy take on traditional shrimp paste. Worth a mention are the french beans with fried danggit. Large portion also. Perfect with the kare kare. Cap your meal with the quesong puti cheesecake. Just the right sweetness. So good. Can't wait to come back.

Food here is quite good! We had a taste of their french onion soup, ilocos clam chowder, clam pasta, beef steak pasta, prawn salad, country style braised pork, signature buko pie, and warm chocolate tart. We enjoyed every dish (the braised pork was the least interesting) and when it came to desserts, Chef Bruce's signature buko pie did not disappoint. The warm chocolate tart was awesome as well. Highly recommended!
