With prices of basic commodities on the rise, inflation at an all time high, my stock investment contracting and other investments earning minimally, living on interest is a thing of the past. I am now actively looking for deals, deals even with food that would stretch the value of my peso.Good thing, there is the booky promo for buy one, get one free! (website will launch its own gold tomorrow, 16 November with its own deals, woohoo...but I am not on the initial list boohoo):). I like it when restaurants list as promo their best selling items, in Recipe's case, the General's Chicken at P250 and get another one free! There are others that would just join to be in the list but giving out their slow movers..hayyy. We partnered it with another best seller, their Crispy Tilapia and two cups of plain rice.General's Chicken is a good blend of sweet and spicy. The breaded chicken is crunchy and is perfectly paired with roasted sliced eggplants. The tilapia is filleted then fried. The fillet pieces are decoratively placed on top of the breaded fish body. Likewise breaded and perfectly crisped, the accompanying sauce turns it into a star. The sauce made of soy sauce and vinegar then mellowed by sugared water with some lime juice and chili highlights the delicate flavors of the fish.I really enjoy eating when the food is delicious and I'm getting a good deal.

Your money is worth the quality of the food. What I love about the concept of their restaurant is it's very classy and their staff would really make a way to accommodate you.

It was my lola's birthday and my mom suggested this place. Ambiance was like modern airconditioned carinderia. Price was affordable but dishes were not that special and small serving (good for 2 people). Service was just okay.Overall, it was just okay so I gave 3.

Back at Recipes!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭 Recipes always be our favorite go-to Filipino restaurant. Not only are the dishes here yummy but they are also affordable! They may look small at first but a single serving is already filling and can be shared by 2-3 persona given that they'll also order another dish. Aside from the really good dishes, service here is also good. It's fast and servers are helpful and approachable. 👌🏼Must must orders (our favorites!! 😝) are the following:CRISPY TILAPIAGISING GISINGGENERAL'S CHICKENOther favorites are the CHICKEN SOTANGHON SOUP and PANCIT BIHON. We were able to try the Spicy Squid too but nothing spicy about it. It's just like the usual calamares with chili sauce on the side.

Recipes serve quality and budget-friendly (mostly between P100 to P300) Filipino comfort food.I have a staple order here: General Chicken and Gising Gising paired with either plain rice of bagoong rice. Worth your money!

We ate at Recipes and availed the BOGO promo of booky prime for general's chicken. The chicken was tasty and crunchy while the eggplant added another layer of texture in the dish - which is great! Gising gising, on the other hand, was plain and lifeless. Seafood rice is just ok, with little pieces of shrimp and squid, and kind of oily. General's chicken was the highlight of the night!

I was here 2/15/2019I was out with a friend and basically didn't have any idea of where to go so my friend suggested Recipes.First off, the ambience, we had dinner inside. I'm not entirely sure if they did have outdoor seating. It's not special inside and sometimes the kitchen gets noisy. You can't blame them, kitchenware could be a bit clanky when banging to each other. But basically, this is the only cons I have other than they don't take debit, only credit cards. The food, we ordered the Kare-kare and General's chicken as per my friend's advice since she loves this place. The kare-kare wasn't what I expected it to be. The sauce is quite thin or rather soup-like. Unlike the normally thick kare-kare sauce. Although my friend mentioned that it's not normally how they served it. So it would've been better if they served it at its best. Other than the texture of the sauce, it was a good kare-kare.The General Chicken, OMG. I was expecting like the traditional chicken with bones and everything. This is different, I don't know what it is they did but it tastes good. It's like sweet but also the breading of the chicken matched perfectly together. Well blended and well marinated. Tasty from the outside and the inside. These are served like Chicken popcorn-ish. So no bones at all, which is exactly how I like flavoured chickens. As for the price per taste, definitely worth it. I'd have to say I would've easily given it a 3 just coz of the lack of ambience. But having to know that they've made a great come back for me with the great food, especially I'd like to highlight General's Chicken, you wouldn't even mind the place. Great food and definitely worth the price.Forget to mention above so I'll just add it here, we each had 1 cup of rice only and we were full. Rice serving is actually not enough for me, but with the right consumption, it is satisfying. Personally, my belly is asking for 2 rice but that would be like 'if I was eating for heavy dinner' kind of thing.Overall, will definitely go back and try their other meals but I will always go back just for the General's Chicken.PSIf they can at least ensure that the kitchen noise won't be heard while dining, I may consider giving it a 5 next time around. For now, it's a strong 4. (Coz apparently I'm unable to give 4.5 for some reason)

Affordable and tasty, their food deserves five stars. We always order gising-gising (without meat), and the quality has always been consistent. It’s one of the few Filipino restaurants that separate the meat from the vegetables, so vegetarians get to enjoy Pinoy favorites like kare-kare and gising-gising sans the meat.

We all know our trip favorite - crispy tilapia, general’s chicken and gising gising plus garlic rice. This time around though we skipped the gising gising because we availed of the Buy 1 Get 1 free deal in the Booky App for the General’s Chicken. You can download the app for free and avail of their free trial. Orders were served very fast! I guess the food is pre or half cooked, nevertheless, I didn’t think it affected the taste and quality. So definitely a go-to restaurant for affordable food and quick service when you’re hungry!!!

Recipes is my no-fail go-to restaurant for cheap but tasty Filipino food. Especially when I want more comforting flavors that doesn't break the bank (unlike Sentro) with flavors closer what I eat at home (sorry Manam, your food tastes amazing but sometimes I want something that tastes like mom's cooking) When here order the:1. General's Chicken 2. Gising gising 3. Laing
