I have passed Pia Y Damaso quite a few times before but it was only recently that I had the chance to dine there with website friends. The Place:It's intimate and cozy. The ambience reminds me of beautiful and memorable ancestral homes. I have always loved the charms of old world settings because it's like going back to an era I have never lived in. A chance to see a glimpse of the past.More on Pia Y Damaso in a bit. 😊

I've eaten there a few times, and although I didn't have the best experience I went back because I like the concept of the restaurant, and their hot chocolates and desserts are something I'd try again. The food--take this--are reheated portions. They don't have a kitchen and they only have the counter in the middle where they heat the food you order, so it's not cooked fresh. I noticed this because once or twice my food was not heated all the way through (still cold in the middle). That is why I am giving a low review. But, their food is creative. The restaurant is cramped (there's very little space to walk in between tables, but the ambiance is good. There are a few things like hot chocolate that I would come back for, but not the meals because for the price I expect my food to be coming from a real kitchen and not microwaved out of the freezer.

Pia Y Damaso is one of those restaurants that we usually pass by, but never dared to try because of the seemingly intimidating prices. However, for my dad's birthday, we decided to go for it. After all, there would be a reason to spend a little more than usual. That was when we realized that although it may be considered expensive here, the dishes range from good to great with some dishes being exceptionally awesome. Dishes to look out for include the Lengua Sevilla (P450) and Lamb Calderetta (P600). Service, on the other hand, was just near satisfactory.

Restaurante Pia Y Damaso is one of the first few restaurants that opened when Greenbelt 5 was relatively new. When I pass by the place, the view from where I stand directs me to seeing people with cakes and pastries on their tables. Due to that, my thinking of Pia Y Damaso is just a dessert place. I was mislead that Restaurante Pia Y Damaso offers desserts alone. My visit to the restaurant proved that you will go for the main dishes, not only for their desserts. The Food:Crispy Adobo Chicken Skin & Tails (Php 160) -  One deadly and sinful appetizer that welcomed me. The crisp and adobo flavor blended to come up with a wicked appetizer. I don’t dig oily food but this one can be part of my exception list.Tubig ni Maria (Php 300) - A creative mix that will make you forget getting the usual glass of water. Served in a cold pitcher of cucumber juice, ginger and citrus water. I had more than 5 glasses of this genius water mix. Filo Tarts with Pork Asado, Apple Relish (Php 220) - If Chinese restaurants have their asado siopao, Pia Y Damaso puts out their Filo Tarts with Pork Asado and Apple Relish. Similar to getting a bun of siopao only this one is enclosed in crispy filo tarts and topped with apple relish to make every bite appealing.Elias (Php 450) -  Elias is a well-known character in the book of Noli Me Tangere, the one who helped Crisostomo Ibarra, main character of Noli Me Tangere. The unique character of Elias illustrated on the dish named after him. Salad is a combination of greens, tomatoes, caramelized pineapple, crisp shallots and seared marinated crocodile that’s from Davao. It is also mixed with mango cilantro vinaigrette. For more details and photos, visit my food blog! Pray, Eat and Love.Cheers,The Food Scout

I've tried their offerings here in mani occasions. Different orders all the time. And each time, I always enjoy it. This Ube langka for php 120 is perfect for an afternoon coffee break

Got enticed with their list of desserts, which are good by the way, but got a little bit upset with the main dish as it didn't meet my expections. Had high hopes for this one but didn't live up with the hype. Good but certainly not great.

I can't rate this place yet since I just went here to drink some refreshments after shopping with my hubby and...boy o boy! For a pitcher of drink, it was really pricey! (Paid 300++) just for a pitcher. Maybe next time I'll dine and give my verdict if the price is worth the food. For the drink...o gosh...it wasn't.

For the longest time, I've been curious about this restaurant. I often pass by it whenever I'm in Greenbelt. It took long before our orders arrived. The bangus belly sinigang is a small serving with scant sitaw and radish. Nonetheless, it was tasty. The lamb calderetta, now my favorite kind of calderetta, is absolutely tender in every bite.Surprisingly, ostrich beef steak with saba only costs P700. It tastes similar to cow meat steak but eating ostrich is a good experience. Meanwhile, crispy prawn gambas cost P600 for only 5 pieces, and it's not so worth it. Also, do know that their crispy pata is cooked in the form of crab cake patties. Placido Penitente's squid is so-so but its sticky black rice has a champorado kind of chewy goodness. For dessert, we had braso, ube macapuno, and Bibingka waffle. My first bite of the braso was food heaven. The spongy part has a light crisp, and the yema is firm and chewy like peanut butter. The ube cake, however, was ordinary. It had too much creme and not enough macapuno. I could barely taste the ube. Bibingka waffle is a good spin to the popular treat, but it didn't taste any better. All in all, I enjoyed dining here. I've been told that Pia y Damaso is more known for its desserts than its dishes; I'd say they're even.

Ordered food for delivery from this 'subversive Filipino ' restaurant. I couldn't help feeling that eating at the restaurant would have been a much better experience.Chinese Lumpia Salad - an excellent salad and a plated version of Lumpia with wansoy, peanuts, sugar and garlic. Tuna egg (Bihod) Tapenade and Matlin Pasta - a lovely seafood pasta using fish roe as the sauce base. Tastes great and blends well the marlin and tomatoes. Sisig Matanglawin - tasted like normal sisig- fatty but can't stop eating!Crispy Prawn Gambas Makaraig - fried prawns in garlic, chili, olive oil, brandy and paprika. Very crunchy and tasty.

cakes, cakes and cakes, a go to place for dessert and weird but delicious concoctions of drinks. place is small and intimate and may be on the expensive side.
