For quality steak, Outback has been our go-to places when we’re craving for some and until now, they never fail to deliver such salivating steaks. Good news is that there are newest dishes aside from steak that can be availed anytime of the day. Sirloin Salad (Php629) – Our usual salad has a premium topping with the well flavored, tender USDA Sirloin steak as topping. Who would not be indulging this dish? That medium rare steak is perfect to the crispiness of the greens and its vinaigrette.

For the longest time I’ve always thought nothing is as Australian as outback steak houses. I was surprised to learn that what I’ve associated with Aussie Icons such as Koalas boomerangs and wallabies originated where LeBron took his talents the first time he left Cleveland. Though it’s not entirely smoke and mirrors for Outback, it was indeed founded by Aussie food enthusiasts who wanted to merry the Rugged novelty of the outback with superb American dining experience.Their branch in Glorietta has been an iconic corner place holder since time in memorial. It’s as Historic as the mall itself and I have been sleeping under a rock to have only dined there recently via an invite. To put it simply, experience was superb. Let me tell you more about the dishes that tickled my fancy during my visit. 1.) Black Pepper Crusted Steak - The saying save the best for last doesn’t apply to a guy with an EQ of an 8 year old like me so I’m starting with the mains! This was the highlight of my meal there. It’s tender, medium rare (depending on your taste) rib eye steak crusted with pepper corn and drizzled with cream sauce. The sharp taste and texture of the crusted pepper corn created a well balanced contrast with the juicy medium rare steak. The cream sauce was literally just icing to the already sinful roasted slab of meat. 2.) Sirloin Salad - A dish for the gastronomic hypocrite who thinks a little steak won’t ruin the calorie count of a salad. It won’t if it’s a few measley pieces, but these are slabs of juicy and tender meat we’re talking about ( I’m not complaining though). I Absolutely love this dish. 3.) Crispy Volcano Shrimp - Again, peeled shrimp with the head taken off is exactly what your dietician recommends, dipping it in batter and deep frying it to a savory crisp will perhaps change his/her mind. Drenching it with Sri Racha sauce just adds a totally different layer to the flavor and texture of the appetizer.4.) Fish Tacos - Proof that outback is really an Australian themed American restaurant (an excellent one at that). This is corn tortilla stuffed with grilled fish, mango salsa and cabbage slew with kick of avocado pico. It’s light, refreshing and yet flavorful.
