I hosted lunch for my mentors and it was only their second time to have Indian food. I arranged quite a diverse choice of meat in different types of sauces, so they get to appreciate more of this cuisine’s wonderful complexity of flavors. We had mutton (lamb), mixed vegetables, fish and Chicken Biryani. I may have forgotten the exact names but I won't forget its striking tastes. I even ordered additional plain rice. Our table also had Pappadum, a crispy thin wrap topped with seasoned diced tomatoes and onions. When was the last you had Indian cuisine? I ate here after watching a movie called The Hundred-Foot Journey.

Indian is not my favorite cuisine. I would just want to give it a try every once in a while. And New Bombay was nearby so me and my officemates gave it a shot. First, I was very much bothered by how the cooks in the kitchen didn’t have any hairnets on or any uniform. In fact, nobody donned a uniform! It made me question the cleanliness of the place. They also didn’t have any proper air conditioning. It’s a common knowledge that spicy food tends to make you sweat. So having no functioning air conditioning unit is a big no no for me. Because of these, I wasn’t able to enjoy the food the whole time I was there.

I tried this restaurant after submitting my visa documents in the embassy across this restaurant. I don't like reviewing these kinds of "franchise" restaurants but I thought I'd give this place a shout out. First, I wasn't expecting anything great but my family and I were quite impressed with their food. The server at first was hesitant to serve us because we came in quite early and the coal on which they use for cooking the breads etc were not yet done however the Indian chef told us it was okay for us to enter but we might have to wait a little big longer. We were relieved because there was a storm and we were famished. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, musson masala and a vegetarian eggplant dish paired with assorted Indian breads like nams and pita. I don't know why the past reviews here were very low but 2 other Indian families came in and looked like happy regular customers in the restaurant. I'd definitely come back for the mutton masala, the lamb was perfectly cooked. You can really taste the spices in every dish. Props to new bombay branch in HV delacosta makati area! 👍

We don't have any idea what to expect since that was the first time that we'll be eating Indian Food. We asked for recommendations, but we finally decided to order the Non-Veg Platter and a scrambled egg for our son. The food was good, but the service is not. When we went there the AC was not working according to the crew. However, the only electric fan that was on is pointed at the direction where the crews were hanging out. I'm not sure if they're supposed to have a uniform because the waiter who took our order looks like someone who's supposed to man an internet shop. Wearing just a casual shirt with some not so child-friendly message written on it. We needed to ask for a lot of things and the waiter kept going outside or is busy with his phone. We'd like to try some of the food on the menu, but not at this branch.

My background: Indian cuisine is among my top 3, and I've been to at least 100+ Indian restaurants around the world (including in Nepal and India).  Summary: This place is not authentic at all. Their food is quite a poor excuse for Indian food. They need a new cook - someone who has actually lived in India. And, to add insult to injury, their prices are quite high for the quality! We ordered several dishes and none were good. For example:- The salty lassi tasted like spoiled yogurt. - The cholay chaat was bland! The whole point of a chaat is that it should be really tasty, but unfortunately, they don't get that concept. - The naan was lukewarm and a bit hard... probably sitting in the kitchen for a while. A properly trained staff would know that naan needs to be served immediately while it's hot.- The paneer dish was entirely unsatisfying ... it was missing some spices.
