I hosted lunch for my mentors and it was only their second time to have Indian food. I arranged quite a diverse choice of meat in different types of sauces, so they get to appreciate more of this cuisine’s wonderful complexity of flavors. We had mutton (lamb), mixed vegetables, fish and Chicken Biryani. I may have forgotten the exact names but I won't forget its striking tastes. I even ordered additional plain rice. Our table also had Pappadum, a crispy thin wrap topped with seasoned diced tomatoes and onions. When was the last you had Indian cuisine? I ate here after watching a movie called The Hundred-Foot Journey.

Indian is not my favorite cuisine. I would just want to give it a try every once in a while. And New Bombay was nearby so me and my officemates gave it a shot. First, I was very much bothered by how the cooks in the kitchen didn’t have any hairnets on or any uniform. In fact, nobody donned a uniform! It made me question the cleanliness of the place. They also didn’t have any proper air conditioning. It’s a common knowledge that spicy food tends to make you sweat. So having no functioning air conditioning unit is a big no no for me. Because of these, I wasn’t able to enjoy the food the whole time I was there.

I tried this restaurant after submitting my visa documents in the embassy across this restaurant. I don't like reviewing these kinds of "franchise" restaurants but I thought I'd give this place a shout out. First, I wasn't expecting anything great but my family and I were quite impressed with their food. The server at first was hesitant to serve us because we came in quite early and the coal on which they use for cooking the breads etc were not yet done however the Indian chef told us it was okay for us to enter but we might have to wait a little big longer. We were relieved because there was a storm and we were famished. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, musson masala and a vegetarian eggplant dish paired with assorted Indian breads like nams and pita. I don't know why the past reviews here were very low but 2 other Indian families came in and looked like happy regular customers in the restaurant. I'd definitely come back for the mutton masala, the lamb was perfectly cooked. You can really taste the spices in every dish. Props to new bombay branch in HV delacosta makati area! 👍
