Talk about pricey! While the prices took me aback for a few seconds I relented when I saw their coffee shakes. Having coffee with a scoop of their gelato proved irresistible for me. I was basically right! It was so yummy and rich on so many levels that I will definitely buy it again.

Needed to satisfy the sweet tooth so we tried a quick bite of ice cream :)This time tried the cone as normally have a cup. So we tried our 2 favorite flavors of hazelnut and pistachio :) #AwesomelyYummy. Always an awesome place for good ice cream.

It is hard to miss this cute gelato stand in the Powerplant Mall; it is situated in the most populous part of the ground floor. The store itself is very attractive, with various gelato flavors beautifully and artistically arranged for viewing (and free tasting). Most flavors are unconventional and Morelli's very own, while the others are standards. One scoop is suffice as the gelato is very sweet. It is thus ideal as a dessert for two after having a hearty meal in one of the mall's restaurants.

Morelli's version of Pistachio takes a more noticeable green hue that bursts with flavor so characteristically nutty that one expects that familiar crisp between the teeth instead the silkiness of italian icecream

After having dinner, we needed some dessert. Their gelato is nice. However, I think they tend to be too sweet. One scoop is pretty hefty. But the sweetness really got me. Their bottled water is pretty pricey too.

More often than not Sundays become a food crawl with the piggery around. So spent lunch at 8 cuts and Shawama wama. In between bites of their juicy burgers and crispy chicken wings , they were already dreaming of dessert.Their plans have to take a back seat though as their 82 year old grampa is craving for ice cream for dessert. So off to Morelli’s we went. The piggery had a field day tasting almost all the flavors first before finally ordering their usual. Grampa lovingly called Papa is easy though. He just wants a scoop of chocolate.Hubby and I split the Royal Banana between us or so we thought. Pretty soon the piggery started eating our order too. I must have eaten just a tiny scoop before everything disappeared huhu. Oh well at least I got to share all those calories hehe

Pistachio with marshmallows for my little girl. Sa glad she liked something else other than just vanilla. Very creamy, but is a bit sweet for my liking. Paid 150 for a scoop. Right by the ground floor escalator.

We’ve already had a number of gelato and ice cream reviews and it’s time we visited another gelato store, just in time for my sister’s birthday. Based from our recommendation of Morelli’s Gelato in EDSA Shangri-La Plaza, we tried their branch in Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Makati.

What's the difference between ice cream and Morelli’s Gelato? Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream which, in the case of Morelli's, is made fresh daily using premium whole milk rather than cream making their gelato taste fresher, smoother, & creamier. Because it is milk based, all Morelli's Gelato is 100% free of hydrogenated fats with an over-all lower fat content making it easier to digest and healthier for you.

My gelato craving started when I got to try the best gelato in Sydney. It was the not so airy, creamy dessert that hooked me in looking for the best gelato in Manila. I would always go for the basic flavors over the flavor combos. For me, it shows how important for them to curate the best ingredients in town (even the world). I bumped into Morelli's while in Powerplant mall and instantly saw two of the flavors that I love, coconut & mangoes. I was in awed when I got to taste both of that flavor. At the first taste of mangoes, it brought me back in 2004, when I went to Singapore for a food expo and an Indian guy gave me mangoes and told me, try it, its 'Alfonso mangoes.' At that time, i didn't care what alfonso mangoes are. The taste of their mangoes is not as sweet as ours, but have a strong, fruity, fragrant aroma that lingers in your mouth. (The same smell frommango flavored lotion.)The coconut was an explosion of sweet, aromatic & fresh flavors that just brings summer to your mouth. Overall, Morellis is one of the best gelateria in Manila. They, not just brings flavors from around the world, but doesn't compromise on anything.
