I don't get how it would take 15 minutes for someone to assist us with our orders even when the place is barely packed. An additional 30 minutes for my appetizer to come out which is supposedly cold, by the way, but arrived room temp. Another 10 minutes more for my sister's food (Bulgogi Bibimbap) to arrive and my food (Xiao Long Bao & Stir fried Noodles) plus a couple more minutes.. Basically, my sister & I sat in Modern Shanghai x Bulgogi Brothers for about 45 minutes without food nor water. How the food tasted didn't even make up for the long waiting time.

Given a choice this cuisine is not my first choice but I was very happy to have dined at Modern Shanghai. We ordered quite a lot of dishes but my favorites were the Xiao Long Bao, Sauteed Sliced Beef with Scallions, Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs Deep Fried Squid and their Yang Chow Fried Rice. Not at all oily and each dish was cooked to my liking. The place itself is huge and they have their own washroom which is great. It's split into two restaurants though so it happened a couple of times that the menu from the other restaurant was given to us. Over all a hppy and very satisfying experience.

It used to be a great Restaurant. After they renovated half of the restaurant to a Korean grill restaurant, the whole restaurant has become hazy and filled with the grilled meat smell! Please go back to the original setup....

Beautiful interiors. Loved the overhead lanterns. Not a fan of the haze from the electronics grills or the grilled meat smell from the next table that has probably gotten into my clothes. If the restaurant insists on the grills, they should really improve their ventilation. That aside, had the crispy noodles, which was perfectly seasoned and crispy. A bit letdown by the squid, which erred a little on the tough side.

Ordinary food. Nothing special... service was slow... only good thing was the free siao long bao we got from my mom's bistro card. Birthday noodles was ok. I forgot what else we had cause it was not memorable at all.
