Modern China Restaurant is quite easy to find, located right beside the Glorietta 4 mall entrance, good for family eat outs on weekends. They have one section for about 20 people, with dividers in case you are planning on a private family event, separate from the rest of the restaurant. We got assorted cold cuts, birthday noodles, crab and corn soup, chicken served with sticky "kutsinta"-like side, fried chicken, tempura, fish in tomato sauce and deep fried salt and pepper crab. Their food is typical Chinese food with nothing standing out in particular. Much like what you would expect from other restos. Their waiters were quite slow with our requests of drink refills, etc, although I'm not quite sure if it was because we were in the isolated part of the restaurant.

I started dining at this restaurant with my family when I was younger. My dad fell in love with their congee and it's the only thing we came back for every weekend. Years have passed. My family doesn't visit here anymore (well because there are a lot of new and better restaurants now), but I still occasionally do. I would often come with friends. As you compare then and now, you can see that the service is somewhat getting poorer, although it still has a royalty fine dining concept, but staffs are slower in service. Nevertheless, food is still good.Their chicken wanton soup is a staple in my every visit. The chicken soup is very rich and you will know that it has been simmered for hours with the whole chicken. The meat is very tender from all the simmering and the wonton is flavorful and adds the needed texture to the soup. It is actually a meal in itself if you don't eat carbohydrates.Servings are rather small for a banquet, and a little pricey, but there is always some dish to come back for. I love the crispy fried intestine, they fry it perfectly and only a few restaurants can do so. The assorted dimsum is a delight to the eye and to the tastebuds. The prawn sotanghon in pot is also nicely done. The glass noodles are flavored with shrimp taste. A favorite now would be their steamed chicken with soy and leeks and for my father-in-law, beef tendon hot pot. The experience of dining feels like eating with the king. The tea is paid but they came from a vacuum-packed seal, and whatever is left will be given to you.

I..love..this..restaurant. *bow*I had the chance to try this beforw but was really disappointed when it closed down. Well, their place was pretty worn out before. Not sure when they opened to the public but, what a comeback! The place was brighter and all stuff are new (I think). The food is still good as ever. This time, we ordered Vegetarian Fried Rice, Stir-fry Kangkong, HK White Chicken, and Taro Duck Puff.HK White Chicken was delish! It's not your typical bland steamed chicken and very tasty. The ginger sauce is amazing. Best ginger sauce I have tasted.Kangkong and fried rice were also on point. Taro Duck Puff was pretty unique. Mom didn't like it as much since she's not into fried food. But, this dish perfectly married the creaminess of the taro and the juiciness of the duck. We topped off our dinner with the usual Mango Sago. Their Mango Sago is also yummy. Not too watery and you can really taste the mango goodness. In addition, our server was very attentive. He would always check on us and ask if we needed anything else. Definitely well-recommended. If you are looking for a more-than-decent chinese restaurant, this is the place to be!Xie xie!

Great food alhough there are some misses like the steamed fish in chili sauce was too salty the last time we ate there. it's Always nice to have some soy chicken or polanchay soup. Some foods are reasonably priced, but some are kinda pricey because of the rare ingredients they use. Truly authentic.

All I can say is: They do not disappoint. They have GOOD FOOD.Was satisfied with everything we ordered- from the appetizers (hakaw, shrimp & pork siomai, chicken feet), to the main dishes (peking duck, braised sea cucumber, chicken & beef), and even the yang chow rice.Superb customer service.Best-tasting hakaw I've tasted so far!
