Had lunch here today and ordered Beef steak, prawns in golden sauce, yakiudon, special California maki. Ambience was nice. Service was ho-hum. Could be better. We were just about 5 tables so I wouldn't know how service is if place is full. I would have given it a higher rating but I found the dishes too salty. It was good but the saltiness masked the yummy taste. The California maki was huge! 👍

Our hearty lunch started with a salmon & tuna carpacio. It's spool good. Then followed by char-grilled tempura (there's a charcoal to grill the tempura on). Amazing presentation. We also had gyoza and miso soup. Service was very good. The female manager was very accommodating. The staff were all friendly and smiling. The store needs a little maintenance or renovation, though. Hope they can have a branch inside a mall to make it accessible.Overall, love the food, the service and the ambiance.

On my last visit here the food was good, but today the quality of the food changed and this is the first time I hated a japanese restaurant. The first dish was a torched tuna sashimi the quantity is so little and when I tasted it ,something was wrong their was an odor... the worst was the miso ramen the broth tasted like chinese medicine . The prices went up and the quality went down....👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 sorry to say it really was a bad experience . The only thing I liked was the ambiance...

Had dinner here with a friend, one night that we couldn't decide where to eat 🙃 Since I haven't dined at Mangetsu yet and we were in the area, craving for Japanese food, we decided to give it a try. Mangetsu's ambiance was very relaxing. Low lights, wooden chairs, with bottles of sake/wine adorning the walls.Their menu options can be quite overwhelming as there were so many to choose from. Fortunately the food items were categorized accordingly into fish, chicken, sashimi plate, beef, etc. I ordered Gyudon while my friend got the Uni Sushi and the Spicy Tuna Maki. The serving size of my food can honestly be enough for 2 people, but I enjoyed it so much that I was able to finish it 😁 I also had the chance on the Uni, which was my first time to taste--it had a very unique flavor, like experiencing a taste of the sea. Not one of my favorites though, but appreciated the freshness of the food and intricate presentation.Customer service was fine, can be warmer. At least they don't shout "IRASSHAIMASE!!!" to welcome customers. One watchout--parking is quite difficult and very tight along Jupiter, especially during dinner time. Fortunately, they allot a slot for customers in nearby Security Bank. Overall, loved the dining experience, food presentation and quality and ambiance of this memorable place 😊 Will definitely be back! 👍🏼

We chose this restaurant because of its proximity in our office and the food of course.. With the ambience and menu selection, this must be authentic. So we got a table, ask for the menu and ordered ramen.. The server confirmed our order and even came back for the house tea which we requested. WE WAITED FOR 15 MINUTES ONLY TO BE ADVISED THAT THE RAMEN WE ORDERED IS NOT AVAILABLE.. Why do they let the customer waited for that long to advised that it's not available. Poor service indeed!

Mangetsu thinks everyone is eating for two, three, or four. The sizes of the food they give you are no joke. I think this explains the prices (if you're comparing just the absolute value). You will find it's great value for money. We always order:Chicken Karaage - 5 hefty pieces of chicken. Tasty and crisp and perfect with steamed rice. Cheese Risotto - deadly good. They portion this smaller (a small bowl) but for good reason since it's quite rich. You will find the portion plenty. One order can probably feed two comfortably.Spicy Tuna Maki - yeah I know not so exciting but you have to have this classic when you come here.New things we tried:tuna cheese okonomiyaki - portion is so generous that the server actually warned me. We ordered it anyway and it lived up to its reputation. It was yummy too and big enough to feed 4! Service is warm and welcoming. We came in at 845pm and they close at 930pm and happily served us! Challenge: Parking! there are only 3 slots in front and 1 in front of Security Bank.

[Disclaimer: Late post.]I’ve been eying to visit Mangetsu for quite some time and since some of my friends and I finally found a date where we’re all free, I took it as a reason for us to all go to that Japanese restaurant.Konnichiwa, Mangetsu! I was a bit scared that we might not have seats given we're meeting on a Saturday so I made sure to reserve a table for 6 the day before. I was expecting a full house but there were still a few tables left vacant when we arrived. I love that they welcomed me by first name. It made me feel like a regular customer. 😆It took us quite some time to decide on what to order as there were a lot to choose from. I noticed that they even have a menu for cheese dishes! *Calling all cheese lovers!* After a few more minutes, we finally ordered the following: Deep-Fried Breaded Prawns (PHP490), Karaage Fried Chicken Thighs (PHP380), Cheese Gyoza (PHP320), Salmon Sashimi (PHP430), California Maki (PHP250/wrap roll, PHP150/hand roll), and Shoyu Ramen (PHP230).First served was the salmon sashimi. I was impressed with how charming the sashimi was plated. It sure made my non-sashimi eating friends try it out and eventually love the fresh salmon cuts. The California maki cuts were pretty big and I loooove the fresh roe.The cheese gyoza on the other hand didn’t really taste like cheese. Or perhaps they made use of cheese that is rather bland in flavor. Nonetheless, it was a bit chewy and it reminded me of mozzarella. The Karaage fried chicken was a hit! It was a crowd favorite as the skin was crunchy yet the meat inside was tender and juicy. Adding those three types of salt made this dish even more superb. Plus the different colors made it so enticing to eat.The deep-fried breaded prawns were great too as they made use of bread crumbs than the typical flour. It added crisp and more texture. The prawns used were huge too so there won’t be a bite with just breading. The shoyu ramen on the other hand was my least favorite. The soup was darker than what I am used to and it was a bit saltier as well. I like my shoyu ramen salty yet slightly sweet but this one isn’t it.Overall, the dining experience was great. I love how the dishes were served and it sure made us hungrier each time a plate is served. I’ll definitely try the other dishes next time such as the cold noodles and the chicken skewers.
