Have to try this chinese restaurant for a new year lunch with our friends. It has unlimited dimsum, soups, and desserts! All of the dimsum were good especially the spareribs in taosi, chicken feet, wagyu beef in mango roll, siomai, hot and sour soup and pork buns! The service was okay and the servers were friendly.

We reserved one of their function rooms for our meeting and ordered their Auspicious Menu VI. They ran out of suckling pig so they replaced it with Peking Duck, cooked two ways (1. roasted and wrapped in Chinese pancake; 2. minced with hoisin sauce and placed in lettuce cups). On hindsight, we should've ordered ala carte to try their best sellers but were too busy to do so. Anyway, food and service were above average. So was the ambiance. I loved their Hot Prawn Salad but their duck was not the best that I've tried. Will definitely come back to try their other food. ☺️

Review as of July 2018Among the hotel Chinese restaurants in Makati, my personal favorite is New World Hotel's Jasmine. While yes the ambiance and service could use some work, the food is top-notch (not even factoring that it's priced more affordably than other restaurants)Below are some of the dishes I've tried, my recommendations are marked with a star (🌟):- Pork Xiao long bao, "Nan Xiang" 🌟- Shrimp Dumplings, "Har Gao" 🌟- Seafood Taro Puff- Seafood Hot and Sour Soup 🌟- Seafood, Crabmeat, Fish Maw 🌟- Chinese Spinach, Scallop, Fish- Pan-Fried Diced Beef Tenderloin, Chinese-style- Sweet and Sour Pork 🌟- Deep-Fried Crispy Chicken 🌟- Fried Rice, "Yeung Chow" Style- Chilled almond bean curd, lychee- Mango Cream, pomelo 🌟

Authentic Chinese food at its finest!♡Our tummies were quite full and satisfied after leaving the table in our private function room. There were dedicated waitstaff all around to cater to our requests. I love how fresh and hot the dishes were served...and they all tasted absolutely amazing. The only downside, most siomai/dumplings came with shrimp mixed in it. Too bad for those with allergies like me. The restaurant had a really posh feel to it and needless to say, we would definitely be back for more.

The first time I ate here, I was disappointed but I decided to give it another chance. Today, all my disappointments were confirmed. Several waiters would receive our different orders and they have different interpretations on the "rules of ordering". Thus, our appetizer was a bowl of confusion. Letting that slide, I ordered a selection of dimsum which were satisfactory but nothing awesome. Then they brought in my seafood spinach soup which was not only flavorless but half-way through it I realized it was not worth finishing. They brought in "yang chow" style rice which tasted old, like days old. It was just as flavorless as the soup. To wipe the taste of the consumed food from my mouth, I ordered dessert which was the almond curd and lychee combo. The perfect horrible end to a horrible meal. The lychees were sour and the curd was just bland. As more customers arrived, the service went from bad to worse. I asked one of the waiters what is the name of the dish he served on our table, but he could not identify what it was. I normally have no problem paying expensive for a meal but the prices they charge here are not justified by the quality of their food.

The restaurant was very cozy. I like the atmosphere. Food was great.Hot and sour soup is one of the best in the country. I’ve always wanted it extra tangy without having the need to add additional black vinegar. The wagyu beef with mango which came out tender and well balanced. That was the most unique dishes I’ve ever tried. The chocolate glutinous rice roll was the best way to end. High quality dark chocolate inside a mochi ball. The server assigned to us was a bit slow and needed improvement. He would usually need to repeat our orders but he gets it wrong, unfortunately. Maybe a trainee?

Chinese cuisine is and will always be one of my favorites. It’s neck and neck with Filipino and Japanese cuisines, respectively. Chinese dishes has been a great part of me growing up in Chinatown. I had lots of it from different restaurants, eateries, food stalls. It just tastes like home. Now, living 30 minutes to an hour away from all the tasty stuff, I make sure that my family and I still get to EATSperience good Chinese food every once in a while through trips downtown or even just eating at Cantonese restaurants. In this edition of EATSplorations, I, Mr. Eats, will be sharing my first-ever EATSperience at one of New World Makati’s in-house restaurants that specializes in authentic Cantonese dishes. Keep on reading to find out what I EATSperienced during a Chinese Feast at Jasmine in New World Makati! Enjoy!

Experienced Jasmine, an in-house Chine Resto in New World Makati. Its my birthday salubong dinner. The resto has this classic Chinese resto ambiance with homie feels. Normally, this type of resto has big servings, so we are quite limited on our orders as we’re just 2. For soup, i had Seafood Hot & Sour (P328)We had the essential noodle as its my birthday, we got the Wok Fried rice noodles, prawns, in Curry Sauce (P528). Legit curry taste, with 4 pcs prawns. Rice noodles is slightly bigger for me. Serving size is big, its good for 3-5 pax. Its good, though slightly bland for my tastebud. I am excited on their dumplings. By thw way, this place offers Unli Dumplings on weekdays. I get to try their Ham Sui Kok , or the glutinous pork dumpling (3 pcs for P208), chicken feet with tausi(P208), shrimp dumplings or Hakaw ( 4 pcs for P238)And finally, dessert. We had butchi or deep fried sesame balls (P188 for 3 pcs)Verdict: their dumplings are good, esp the hakaw. I love its, the wrapper is quite different, its more clear than the usual. Enjoyed the yummy soup as well as the buchi. Price is reasonable as its in a hotel. Nice place for special occasions

This review is for the dimsum lunch buffet. P988/head, attached menu is what's included. No drinks, hot tea.I pretty much liked everything on the menu except for the seafood taro puff. In effect, I didn't order the other taro puff varieties. The shrimp dumpling, pork and mushrooms, spare ribs, chicken feet, asparagus were really nice. Service was very attentive. When the place got busy, the service got a little slower, but kudos to them because they remember your pending orders. After all, they just rely on the kitchen. Order the xiao long bao, spare ribs ahead because they are cooked as ordered (which is good). The other dimsum and siao mai are just in the cart so they are easily served.

Meals are nicely priced for its serving. Our bill wasn't as much as we expected, knowing that we ordered live seafood. Taste is good, but for a hotel, I think it could be a little bit better.Note: We usually avail the dimsum buffet (worth it!). This was the first time we ordered ala carte.
