Last time we dined here was some years ago and we were happy with our experience. Not so now. On the overall, our experience now was disappointing at best. It's just no longer how it used to be.We had a few dimsums to start off. The recommended xiao long bao was too meaty and quite dry -- there wasn't any of the "soup" inside the dumpling. Taste-wise, it was also off. Their hakaw was just OK, nothing to write home about. Their siomai was somewhat too chewy. Like it just came off the freezer and lacked steaming. For mains, we had the lamb stew, fish fillet in soy, and fried salted shrimps. The lamb stew was disappointing and was many notches below my favorite version in Uno Seafood Palace GH. The fish fillet was ordinary as one doesn't really expect much from it (hopefully just fish that seems more fresh). The shrimps were also a disappointment taste-wise. They were very dry. Versions from popular restos such as Shrimp Bucket would fare much better than this.I enjoyed the complimentary dessert of red bean soup but the ferrero buchi was nothing great. Think of a buchi with a ball of ferrero rocher inside, that's about it. The 2.3K I paid for this dinner was so not worth it, in my opinion.

IMC (International Master Chef) Kavino is an excellent Chinese restaurant in Bel Air. From the complimentary unlimited tea to the complimentary mini- dessert, the food is quintessentially Chinese. We started off with Szechuan Hot & Sour Soup. Loved this soup - just the right combination of spiciness and sourness with crunchy veggies and tender tofu and meat.Next came the Sizzling Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce. Tender beef stir fried with a lip smacking black pepper and soy sauce with tomatoes, broccoli and baby potatoes. Exceeded my expectations.Next dish was 3-cup Chicken in Pot. This too was excellent. The recipe calls for cooking the chicken in a pot with a cup each of soy sauce, sesame oil and rice wine and cook it until the sauce is 80-90% reduced. The chicken tasted great having soaked up the sauce. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the Metro, in my opinion.

If you are looking for a good restaurant in Jupiter Belair with affordable pricing, this is the right place for you. A fusion restaurant that offers Chinese cuisine flavored and cooked by Master Chef Lau . I love their minced beef bamboo soup , golden garlic yangchow fried rice , pork spareribs, shrimp dumplings and crunchy veggies, among others. Service turnaround time is acceptable but my only issue is the parking every lunch time, since the place is always full of employees working within the area. Overall, my experience is satisfactory.

I've been going to Kavino since it opened. The food is great and that's already no surprise. The team who cooked this place up (literally and figuratively) came from a well-known Chinese restaurant in an upscale hotel. The staff is the best part. This small lady takes the orders and entertains people. You couldn't mistake her for anyone because she is one of the reasons besides the food that makes this restaurant awesome. She is very knowledgeable about the food and she is the right mix of persuasive and sensitive. She knows when to offer things and when to leave you to enjoy your food. Being someone who likes to dine alone, she sometimes offer 1 person servings and charge only per piece for the food she can do that for. I really appreciate that she knew what was my concern without me asking. I keep coming back to this place! Try their breaded pork wraps with hoisin sauce (pork beijing) , almond tofu cups and basically all those stuff you're not familiar with. Ask her if you can try it per piece (or two)
