Mom loved this place. She was happier with her Hire Katsu Set here compared to when we ate at Yabu. She wanted something with less fat. On the other hand, I really enjoyed my Rosu Katsudon Set. They say it's Japan's #1 donburi and it did not disappoint. The free ice cream trio was also a delight. Very light dessert, sweet ending to a good meal.

Love their interiors and their food. Very nice presentation. Fell in love with their katsu too. Definitely worth trying! I would definitely go back here and try their other dishes.

I've been to Tonkatsu by Terazawa, Yabu and Saboten.. So far, I can say that Ginza Bairin is the best in terms of food quality, service and value for money 😊

The food is the same as the other tonkatsu restaurants like Tonkatsu and Yabu. Nothing really special that sets them apart from the others. I ordered their chicken katsu set. They used thigh part instead of the usual breast part which makes it juicier. Their roasted sesame dressing is delish though. Overall, the dining experience is okay. Service wise, the staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs.

One of the now many Tonkatsu places in Metro Manila. I’d say the quality of their dishes are satisfactory, however I was very dismayed with their service. May be it has to do with the fact that we really loved the warm and friendly customer service of Yabu and Tonkatsu by Terazawa, theirs felt really dry and cold. No staff in sight to ask for the refill, not to mention no one approached to even ask.

A couple of months back I was in Osaka for our annual company trip. There I got to sample a popular local dish called Okonomiyaki. A pancake / omelet mix which come in many variations of seafood, pork or chicken. I passed along Ginza Bairin in Glorietta 2 one time and noticed they were promoting their Okonomiyaki which I suppose is a new addition to their menu. So I gave it a try. Their version is comprised of savory chicken and vegetables. At P180 it's already a complete meal. It stays true to the Osaka Okonomiyaki i've come to know. But since Ginza Bairin for me is truly a place for good katsu, I had to have a side order of Hire Katsu. Glad that I did as at least I was also able to satisfy a craving for lean pork yet succulent and juicy katsu. Also great match to my orders is a refreshing glass of Cucumber Lemon Cooler.

Katsu is good but not the best out there, a bit dry. A little pricey , ambiance is good however service needs a big improvement , they should be more attentive to customers and they should know more about their menus

As it had been some time since the last time I had tonkatsu, coming to Ginza Bairin gave me a chance to 'recharge' if you will. To be honest, I don't particularly look for tonkatsu in general. Despite the offers of all you can eat rice and miso soup and cabbage, it is my honest opinion that you can only have so much fried pork in a year, particularly with no small amount of fat that normally comes with it.There isn't much to say about Ginza Bairin that hasn't been said for many of the other high-end tonkatsu-specializing restaurants in the Makati area. The pork is fried well (not dry, crispy outer skin, soft meat inside) and the side dishes (rice, salad, soup) all work together to give a balanced meal that is filling and tastes good.In case you can't find it, the restaurant is located outside of Glorietta 2 which means having to go out of your way out of the mall in order to reach it (along the row of cafes). So to summarize, no real difference (at least with the tonkatsu) to other restaurants of the same caliber (although perhaps the interior could use some additional Japanese elements). If tonkatsu is what you are looking for, though then this is definitely a good option to consider.

My main concern with their branches is consistency, especially with the rosu. I hope they do something about it. "Being good is best with consistency."Their food is almost known to eveyone... chicken and rosu katsu in different variations. This particular branch though secluded from the busy parts of the area, is probably their best branch in the metro. The biggest and best interior so far.My favorite still remains to be their high grade rosu katsu and for a change, been appreciating their curry. Though they have new items in the menu such as the fusion makis, reinvented rosu dishes, and their version of ramen; their original items still stand out.Their branches in Japan are not entirely dedicated to katsu but caters every Japanese dish you can remember. I just hope they bring them all here.

I attended a dinner meeting here since one of the persons in the group recommended this place and said it was better than Yabu. I'm not sure if other katsu joints have this feature but green tea is part of their list of unlimited servings. I got the Hire-Rosu combo. They're not exactly the best meat so of course it wasn't anything spectacular. In fact, I couldn't even tell the difference between Ginza and Yabu. Next time, maybe I should get their combos with seafood. Out of preference, I would still dine at Yabu.
