Pretty place on Kalayaan Ave with a nice bar. We came for lunch and I must say I was disappointed. We had the spanakopitas and a green salad for starters. The spanakopitas were good and served differently as it had a cucumber sauce on top with some salad greens on the side. Unfortunately the sauce made it a bit soggy. Mite be better to have the sauce on the side. The green salad was a mixture of greens with some vinaigrette splashed on it so no big deal. For our mains we had the Moroccan chicken sausage which was served with a bit of lettuce and a smudge of mustard for about P390. Additional sides are at P200 each (for fries or mashed potatoes etc). The sausage was so salty and dry it was almost impossible to eat it alone so some mashed potatoes are a must (fail!). The chicken kabob was ok but a bit on the dry side too. The pita bread it came with was equally dry that we couldn't even roll it without it falling to pieces. The bread they had on the side was equally disappointing. The pandesal (which wasn't moist either) tasted the same as their sourdough! Plus they were very slow in preparing the food (even if there were only 8 guests in the whole place) that my mom already threatened to walk out! Based on this experience i don't think I'll be back. Sorry, had high hopes for this place.

FIG, appropriately named after the famous shrub and fruit in the Mediterranean region, is an upscale wine bar and restaurant along Kalayaan Ave. in Makati City. As the name implies, the drinks and dishes (from starters to main to dessert) are predominantly Mediterranean, although some items have fused authentic Filipino ingredients with them, e.g., quesong puti, longganisa meat, carabao milk. The design of the place is ideal for romantic dates, relaxing moments with friends, or simply, "me"-time at the bar with a glass of wine. Despite being in a main thoroughfare studded with bars and restaurants, this establishment is somehow discreetly sandwiched in-between, creating that feeling of seclusion inspite of the busy and noisy street just a few steps away.

Fig's brunch menu, although somewhat limited, was well thought-out and prepared. We ordered a spinach and mushroom galette and a main dish of smoked salmon on brioche. The dishes were tasty, but not too rich. The Limonana is a refreshing option for a non-alcoholic brunch beverage, a must try!

Nice ambience and modern interiors. My friends don't enjoy this cuisine as much as I but relented because of me. Most of the dishes we wanted to order (and about 25% of the menu) were not available and it was even more frustrating to have to look through the menu extensively only to have the waitress say that the item was not available, which happened around 2-3 times. Finally we got to order and then when we ordered rice to go with it, the waitress told us, that too was out of stock, despite being in the menu. Rice was out of stock? The reason given: their supplier did not deliver the organic items they assure their dishes would be. I told them "Magsara nalang kayo." (Just close down.) I invited some girl friends for dinner to cheer me up so I was wishing for a hassle free dinner. It was not a wonder that we were the only table in our floor. Other diners probably heard of the frustrating experience others have had. If not for the nice ambience and the apologetic staff, this would be rated 1.

Posh restaurant, fine dining, reasonably priced. I'm in love with their hummus, there's nothing like it. Pasta is great, the carbonara is great but different. There's a healthy twist to it. Awesome chicken and lamb kebab, cooked to perfection.
