Only one of 3 places for me to find good Vigan emapanada. The second one is the smoky barbecue joint in front of St Jude near Malacanan, and the third is, well, Vigan itself. There might be other places in the Metro that serves great Vigan empanada, but thanks to this place, I don't have to look elsewhere. It's also a 3 minute bike ride away so I'm totally biased.Up: Inexpensive food, great varietyDown: They run out of some variants sometimes.

Whenever I'm at The Collective, I drop by at Fariñas to get my Ilocos Empanada fix and some cheap but awesome tasting Bagnet. I love that they use Bagoong Balayan for the Bagnet and not vinegar like most restos do.

Another go-to place when you need recovery food. The famous Bagnet or the Longanisa will soak up all the nasties and will make you feel good as new! ;) It also helps that prices are easy on the pocket. You can never go wrong with Fan Favorites: Ultimate Empanada, Combo Meal, and Ilocos Miki Supreme. All serving sizes are good for one super hungry person.#HangoverRecovery

Cheap eats here. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.Bagnet meal -- Bagnet is so-so as I've had better elsewhere. Skin is many times tough and not crunchy.Vigan longganisa meal -- Nice texture and crunch but taste was off. Lacked too much of the garlic flavor I was expecting.Supreme Miki -- Passable for the price. I would not order this again.Ultimate empanada -- Bland taste. Couldn't finish half of it. Vigan's is still better.

If you're on the lookout for fresh handmade comfort food then this is the place to be! They showcase the famous Ilocos empanada and even the most basic offering tastes great. Try their okoy too! Dont forget to use their special vinegar and youre in for a good classic Filipino treat :)

Some eons ago, my curiosity was poked by that orange, half-moon shaped Ilocano delicacy called empanada. Fast forward to fairly recent times, I had the chance to taste empanada in that open air food fair at Pioneer called Banchetto. I excitedly opened the wrapper for my curiosity will finally be satiated. First bite was love, the second one a sinful affair that was hard to let go of. The outer shell was perfectly crunchy and seasoned well. The filling was heaven; a melange of rich flavors from the salty-garlicky longganisa and runny egg. Add to it a dash of Ilocos vinegar and you're in for a good ride. Whew, food love.

The ingredients are authentic Ilocos alright , you can tell it with the freshly made Empanada and sweet tangy feel of the longganisa. However they need to improve on the over all package hence to make it more appealing and palate unforgettable. The service needs improvement too! Price wise it pretty affordable you get what paid for.

Ilokano ak, or at least my mom is, so that makes me Italiano -not because I love pasta so much, it's just a joke about being an ita-ilokano. If the Italians have their porchetta, Ilokanos have bagnet but you can never really compare them -you just eat! Farinas is of course a genuine Ilokano so they should really know how to make Ilokano food. The food gives you the flavor of Ilocos but nothing beats going to Ilokandia yourself. Ask MyEmptyPlates.

For somebody who hasn't been to Ilocos, Fariña's is by far the best Iloco Empanada that I had. Never mind that the place isn't airconditioned--I'll endure the heat to satisfy my craving. The ultimate empanada is huge, stuffed, flavorful, and has bagnet, so that's what I always (automatically) get.

First time to try Ilocos Empanada was in QC. Oh man! This is my favorite food ever. Good thing their branch in makati is near to my work place. Loved the texture of it, crispy on the outside, full and tasty on the inside. I even ordered 2 for take out!! Their Miki Special and Longganisang Ilocano is a must try. I just love Ilocano foods!
