I managed to get a free take on this buffet, care of the nice people at SCPF.The feast begins with two kinds of pizza, some run of the mill viands, above average dimsum, roast beef, and finishes with Cebu lechon. The dessert place serves ice cream and a variety of cakes and creme brulee. The salad bar is not as complete as other buffets. But trust that whatever it does not provide in variety is made up for in terms of quality. And for that, I left the hotel with a full stomach and a happy heart!

First time to eat here and I dunno if this is just me but I was underwhelmed with Escolta. Either I  expected to much since this is The Peninsula or it was just OK. I'm also thinking because reading the previous reviews, everyone seemed to love Escolta.ProsDesserts are delicious, I have a sweet tooth so this is a treat for me. I like that the restaurant is very bright, you have windows hat look out to the garden as well as skylights so that you have natural light coming in.Staff is very nice and helpful.Ambience is luxe.ConsFor the price, the selections are limited. You only have a grilling station and that's it. Unlike other buffets where you can cook noodles, pasta, etc, this only has the grill for your seafood (unless I didn't see the others).Taste was just OK. I got some seafood sewers and I was like "huh?". The fish seemed like it wasn't fresh or just very dry (I dunno). Same with my friend, she didn't like the skewers too. The rest was OK.

I'm a Peninsula black card member, hence I've been coming to Escolta at least more than twice a year. Their buffet spread is really really good. Just enough to keep your taste buds wanting more! Quality-wise, their food is perfect!

Together with Mia and her family, we celebrated her birthday here. It was indeed a memorable night, thanks to Escolta's beyond the expected service and their line up of well-curated international buffet. I recently signed up for Manila Peninsula membership card and so we got 50% discount as well as a delectable and fudgy chocolate cake as a gift. Apparently, 4 other families had their birthday here too. I loved the spread of choices. It was like Spiral's version only smaller. They have all you need from cheeses, slices of bread, fresh seafood, meat carving, sashimi, dimsum, make your own salad, soups, pasta, pizza and a stretch of delicious desserts. They have American, Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian and local Filipino cuisines available for you. And I must say most of what I got were of quality. I liked most especially their Chicken Roulade, Spicy Beef Stew, Crab Cakes and Chocolate Orange Tart. The buffet is at Php 2600++ but worth it even without the discount. Have you tried Manila Pen's version?

I'm really happy with the food they serve and the service, the staff are kind, approachable, attentive, and they greet you. It may be nothing for you, but those kind of service are rare these days.
