We picked the place seeing the exceptional reviews on website and.. Got highly disappointed.. Not just with the quality of the food but also the service.the pasta we ordered was a chorizo and spaghetti Pasta, apparently the restaurants best seller.. Wouldn't rate it more than 3 on 10. Because there was nothing best about the bestseller. Nibbled some, then Fidgeted with it for some time and then just let it go. Our second Order, The chicken roulade had a different kind of a taste and stench, not up to our liking and tolerance. There was something odd about it. With regards to the service, something as basic as having napkins on the tables wasn't taken care of and we only got a napkin only when we asked for one at the end of our meal. The captain saw us play with the food for some time and then almost when we were to give in asked for whether we enjoyed the meal.. We gave him our honest feedback, he was apologetic but didn't offer any accommodation or another option. I fact we were told the chicken is organic may be that's why.. We sure have eaten great tasting organic chicken before.. All in all, The food is just OK. Service is also just OK.

Last valentine's day, i treated my girlfriend to a special valentine's day degustation dinner at Chateau 1771. Chateau 1771 is a restaurant that we've visited quite a bit. We like the food there and the service is excellent. And their manager Benny is awesome. He's always been the one to service us during our visits and his service has always been top notch. 😊So, the valentine's menu is a five-course degustation menu. For starters, we were given an Amuse-bouche. It's a deep fried aklan oyster with mango salsa, chili's and a mojito shot. Very good opening dish. I like how the oyster is still soft and tender inside the batter and the batter itself is crunchy and light. Pairs well with the mojito shot. The second course is a porcini ravioli(photo grabbed from my girlfriend). It's a ravioli with porcini mushtoom and parmesan stuffed in it with a poached quail egg on top and a mushroom broth to serve as a sauce. This is one of their new dishes for the degustation menu which we're hoping becomes a regular item. It is sooo good. It's creamy but light and the flavors of the cheese and the sauce and the egg yolk with the mushroom go together so well. We wished there was more of that. It's that good. Really hoping it becomes a regular item. The third course is a chilean sea bass on a red pepper coulis and lentil-stuffed artichoke. A healthy and light fish dish. For those days when you want to feel healthy. Hahaha. The fourth course is an angus beef rib eye steak with cauliflower puree with shoestring carrot and lettuce salad. Very good meat but i would like to point out that puree. It's hard to believe it's made from cauliflowers. It's a wonderful alternative to mashed potators for steaks. It's creamy and light but smooth to the last bite. Another dish we're hoping becomes a permanent addition to the menu or as an option for their steak dishes like their specialty dish, the potence. For the dessert, we had their chocolate profiteroles. Basically its a cream puff which decided to pull its act together and make a better version of itself. It's really good. It's soft to the bite and creamy and flavorful. The chocolate is not overpowering at all. It's a dish we hope becomes a regular menu dessert. We ordered our favorite coffee, the flambeed kahlua coffee to go with the profiterole. It's unfortunate that we can't add videos in website but it's one of the nicest things to watch being made in front of you. They light the kahlua in the cup and it's mixed up. Afterwards the flames are extinguished and coffee is added and topped with heavy cream.Overall, it was a wonderful valentine's day experience at chateau. Here's hoping that the dishes we really really like become regular menu items and not just available during valentine's.

Stepping into Chateau 1771, we knew we would be in for a delightful lunch. We opted to dine here because of the reviews and the accessibility to all of us. We entered its portals on a very sunny Sunday afternoon. The decor is tasteful, albeit a little intimidating to some, borderline snobbish if not for the inviting service staff who welcomed us. We selected a sofa table overlooking the lush gardens of Greenbelt 5. The intricate French windows in front provided an almost unobstructed view of the manicured lawn while letting in just enough light to make it seem you were outdoors yourself. The paintings that littered the walls are also good conversation starters... perfect for those first few moments of awkwardness on a first date. We decided on what to order and agreed shortly. We had “Potence” for the entrée (traditional grilled beef tenderloin flambéed in brandy explained in the menu). It included a choice of two sides (Sautéed French Beans and Broccoli with Prosciutto Bits and Spaghetti Aglio Olio) and three sauces; Mushroom sauce, Café de Paris Butter and Garlic Sauce. After warm conversations over soft classical piped-in music (a live 3 piece ensemble would have been perfect) our meal arrives and seeing as the portions are quite sizeable we decided to share. The grilled tenderloin was hung on a metal gallow. It was flambéed in front of us and was served immediately after. We were really amazed; needless to say...we saved a few "woaws" and "ummmss" at our table. The beef was perfectly done, the slow cooking method made it so tender, it was perfect with the sides complimentary to it. Though it was a bit under-seasoned, it really tasted so good combined with the Mushroom Sauce. Maybe that's one reason why the beef wasn't that seasoned. The complimentary tastes felt like a tango on our taste buds. We kept silent and even closed our eyes as we savor that beautifully cooked meat. On the other hand, the presentation and the way the beef and the sides were plated wasn't really that appealing, maybe because of the lack of colors. Maybe a bigger plate serving them all together would've been better. But nonetheless, we loved it. It was a nice opportunity to dine in such restaurant which caters these types of services. Even though we sort of had a hard time calling out the staff for additional requests, their discretion added a little intimacy to the meal. It's true as they say, "This is heaven on Earth." It really was. The small talks and chit chat while waiting for our food to be served and even after we dined enhanced the overall service. It was really a fantastic experience. We would definitely be glad to go back and try the rest of their menu.

Initially confused to pick a restaurant among a sea of options in greenbelt, Chateau called out because we saw it was voted as #1 restaurant in Manila for # of years. We ordered Pan seared sea bass, scallops and lemon chicken.Scallop dish was extraordinary, I just wanted to thank the chef. I have never tried something so tasty in my life. It was warm, melted with cheese and garlic with toppings of croutons. Nothing can be better than this. Must try!Sea Bass in rossito was quite amazing as well.Lemon chicken was passable. This restaurant deserves to be #1 and 5 rating

Chateau 1771 is a French/Mediterranean bistro dining that has been in the industry for quite some time already. It is part of the group where 1771 has been part of the branding with multiple concepts in hand.I had an opportunity to have one of my meetings here and had the business lunch set....

Celebrated my birthday here with my family  a few weeks ago. I always pass by this place whenever I'm at Greenbelt and I'm amazed by its beautiful interiors. We were given a complimentary appetizer upon ordering and even the appetizer looks pricey. I forgot what it's called but it's an eggplant-based dip. These were what we had:Raclette - I got excited when I saw it on the menu. I've seen a video where the cheese was poured on top of veggies and potatoes upon serving. I asked if they served it that way but the server said it's already prepared when served. I got disappointed but still willing to give it a try. But when it was served, it wasn't as melting as I expected it to be. Some parts on the edge already hardened and it's too thin. There was just 3 pieces of marbled potatoes plus onions and cornichons. For 470php, I don't think it's worth it. Caesar Salad - again, I was surprised at how small the serving is. But the taste was simply great. It was prepared on the spot- we can see one of the staff prepare it. Before pouring the dressing, she even asked us to taste it first to see if the taste is just right. The lettuce used is very fresh. Salmon - my mom ordered this. It looked grilled and served with mashed potato and veggies on the side. I didn't take a bite of this but my mom enjoyed her meal. I tried the mashed potato and I loved it. Gambasetti - I was hesitant to try this because of its hefty price but my husband chose this. But no regrets as it's also good though it's a bit dry. But it's really full of shrimps. We didn't bother to count - it's that many. Parmigiano Ravioli in Creamy Mushroom Sauce- I wanted to try something different. I've tried ravioli from another restaurant before which was a complete disappointment so I had high hopes here. You can choose between Napolitaine Sauce and Creamy Mushroom Sauce and I chose the latter. It's topped with brocolli, cauliflower, asparagus and zucchini. It's really filling - you'll feel heavy afterwards (but no umay factor). I think a serving of this is good enough for two. I enjoyed this dish. For desserts, we had the Coffee Pie and and Mango Jubilee. I didn't find anything special with the Coffee Pie but the Mango Jubilee is very very good. Had fun pouring the mangoes onto the vanilla ice cream. Service is highly recommended. My husband accidentally dropped the glass with water on our table and the table cover got wet. The server insisted that we moved to another table but we just stayed since it's our fault. Ambiance is great. Beautiful interiors, high ceiling, natural lighting...need I say more? And the toilet also looks beautiful, it's like you're dining in a hotel. Food is really pricey but you're paying for the quality of the food and the place. Fine dining at its best.

It's been around 11 years since we last ate in Greenbelt. One Sunday night after hours of shopping we decided to revisit Chateau 1771. It has been a favorite of my parents since it opened several years ago. The ambience is fit for couples - romantic dimly-lit Victorian fine dining. For starters, we had the following:1. Chateau gambas - very tasty and flavorful. Portion was too small for the price tag of PHP5602. Scallops Au Gratin - stood out amongst the starters we ordered. The jumbo scallops was a medley of garlic, cheese, parsley and croutons. All of which played a role in the rhythm of flavors. Absolutely good and highly recommended!3. Cream of mushroom soup - so so mushroom soup. Unfortunately did not reach my expectation. 4. Caesar salad - fresh, crisp, and well tossed but too expensive for PHP400I had the specialty of the house for my main course - Potence. It's grilled beef tenderloin hung on a metal gallow, flambeed with brandy, with a choice of 2 sides and 3 sauces: mushroom sauce, Café de Paris butter, and garlic sauce. I picked the smaller portion (200 g) with boiled broccoli, French beans, asparagus, lemon, extra virgin olive oil, and spinach, shallots in brown butter, with toasted almonds for my sides. Not very impressive to me. Nothing special apart from its grandeur entrance to our table where it was served on a wooden cart with a little "performance" by the waiter. He literally set the meat into blue flame. The service was impeccable though, I commend the staff. The only down side of this restaurant is the price. To me it's a little bit overpriced and unexpected for a typical fine dining restaurant in Greenbelt area. Overall I'd rate it 4 stars.

It's really one of those institutional restaurants in Greenbelt  that if you want to take a special someone for an intimate dinner to celebrate a momentous occasion.  Although we were there on a late afternoon for a quick meeting and we just decided to try their desserts.  I ordered their Lemon Basilic Sorbet which should be something to cleanse my taste buds.  Although it was a good dessert for me that I really enjoyed and something that  would really end a good meal. Although there was more as my friends and I shared their Triple Chocolate  Mousse very decadent and packed with flavor on the  use of the Valrhona chocolate.  In my next visit would definitely try their entrees   to experience  the whole finding ambiance.
