Via Mare is the official caterer of our convention, so I'm sure to eat their food 3x a year at least. I'm sure it is no easy task to prepare, cook, transport, and distribute food for thousands of people for 3 days straight... But, I feel like they always deliver in terms of taste and servings are always more than generous. Their packed lunches are always very neat and tasty despite being prepared well in advance. I like how consistent they are over the years and they always have their best foot forward during our annual conventions. Kudos!👍

The Puto Bumbong was so-so because the brown sugar was too thick; it caked up. Mais Con Hielo is refreshing, no frills, and perfect from top to bottom. Drinking straight from the glass is the best part! Palitaw is the best dessert for me so far because I love the usual sweetness from the simple mix of coconut and sugar.

Ate here with my fam on Sept 1. Long wait but a waiter attended to us to make sure we ordered ahead. They allowed us to sit in a smaller table and just added to it when other tables cleared up. They never missed an ask for water or additional orders.Of course, i need not comment abt the food. No matter what you order, it will be good. Same service too across all branches.

In the Philippines, apart from the traditional soup, whether notable or homemade, there are several meals that are good enough (in no particular order) but better when raining. You agree or is it just me? All the freakin' time, above all else I crave and eat Pancit! I know it's just there all year round but come on, noodles have been a staple food in or out of the country and selling pretty well during this time!Let's take (1) Pancit Luglog of Cafe Via Mare as one such example. Served hot; needless to say, that melt-in-mouth bright orange flavorful sauce topped with shrimps, green onions, smoked fish, squid, sliced meat, chicharon, egg will keep you cozy and happy all day long!

I was a bit disappointed with the bibingka they served me.  It was very dry and crusty - not the usual soft, fluffy and pillowy rice cake that I expected.   The spanish style chocolate was good tho.  Fast service.  Crew was receptive to the feeback given about the food and service so that was still good.

A place you need to try if you want some Filipino dishes for snacks or merienda time. This cafe is found inside Landmark on the 2F. I tried salabat (ginger tea) and their famous bibingka with Laguna cheese and quail eggs. Serving time was only 10-15 minutes. During weekends, this place has many customer, so better to eat on weekdays.

The name Via Mare is an institution when it comes to good Filipino food. Earlier this week, I met a colleague here for lunch. We were there before the opening hence getting a table was not a problem. Service was also fast and efficient. We ordered rellenong bangus (stuffed milk fish), sun-dried crispy tapa, steamed rice and puto maya (Filipino version of mango sticky rice) for dessert. The rellenong bangus was good. The stuffing could use a little more egg in the mixture so the slices do not break but other than that it was toothsome. The flaked fish meat was deboned properly and sautéd well. There was also sweet signature coming from raisins. The tomato salsa was a perfect sauce/dip for the dish. The tapa was not what I had in mind. It was a toss between tapa and tapa flakes. It was dry (as the name suggest) but very tasty. When dipped in vinegar, the more the flavours come out. Both dishes were perfect with rice. The dessert was good. The main difference with the puto maya and the Thai mango sticky rice is the coconut milk. The Thai version is normally 'wet' because you pour in the coconut milk on the rice where as the Filipino version is 'dry' because the sticky rice is cooked with some coconut milk. The local version also does not use much of coconut milk. They let the sweetness to come from the ripe mangoes. The Via Mare version was excellent. The mangoes were naturally sweet and the sticky rice cooked brilliantly. I just loved it. Via Mare has been in existence since I was a child and perhaps even before then. With the number of branches increasing, it is safe to surmise that the brand is going strong. Hopefully, they will consider international expansion soon.

Our go-to merienda place whenever we shop at the Greenbelt-Landmark-Glorietta-SM Makati area (yes, at least 4 malls a day on a weekend) :) love its ginataang halo halo - that thick ube-colored coconut milk-based dessert, the fresh lumpia ubod and pancit luglog :) and not to forget, the relatively-affordable brewed coffee to serve as the helper-panulak to water :)

The place is too crowded given the location of the restaurant, and the volume of people who are eating. Their Filipino menu is on point, easy to understand and very informative. Their staff is friendly and accomodating. I decided to eat here because of the fern salad and it did not disappoint. 😊
