Cafe Via Mare is recommended for those who are looking for a place that offers hearty meals or simply favor Filipino classic food.  Their menu specializes in the traditional Filipino food, consisting of tuyo, vigan longganisa, sinigang na hipon, inasal na manok, tilapya, palitaw, etc. Overall, the food is satisfactory but we don't feel like eating here frequently, probably because it only caters the traditional.

Ordered their Beef Salpicado which had rice and vegetable lumpia on the side and oysters rockefeller. It was already 2pm so there weren't much people in the resto but I found the serving time quite long and the waiter did not inform me how long I should wait. The food though was good, beef was spicy and garlicky and not tough to chew and tender, the oysters were huge and the toppings were generous. It was not hard to get the waiters' attention so all in all, I had a good experience and would definitely come back.

A most familiar special spot in Greenbelt 1 since my university years! Cafe Via Mare is synonymous to authentic puto bungbong and bibingka - both hatd-to-find #kakanin - that are made readily available every time and as early as 9am even while the rest of the mall is hours away from opening. From the Tokwa't Baboy to whet your appetite to any of their delicious Filipino entrée and top it off with their Shooters (a wholesome version of shots, panghimagas style), Via Mare never fails to conjure hearth and home. The Attentive staff and the simplicity of the restaurant's feel offer a most needed quiet in the middle of the Makati Commercial District. Their #PorkHumba, #AdobongPusit, #KareKare, Puto Bungbong, Bibingka and other signature items are ready to be taken home at their #ViaMareExpress counter.

I came to this outlet hoping to have nice Filipino meal but I have lost my patience with the waitstaff who literally made me wait! All the attention I received was when they served me a glass of water, that was it! When I asked to speak to the manager - there was none, only the Captain was the highest in rank and came out only when a complaint was being made. Single diners beware of this place! Sad fact is, it was not busy. Very disappointing and will not come to this place anymore!

Delicious Bibingka at Cafe Via MareAllow me to say that they have by far the best-tasting Bibingka being offered commercially. Of course, I would still go for bibingka cooked the tradional way with red salted eggs and margarine. Commercial bibingka, because replicated en masse, loses its authenticity in the process. It's usually just a mass of tasteless, tough dough with some slivers of salted eggs. However, Via Mare's is different. I particularly like its version with Laguna Cheese and Salted eggs. The batter is delicately sweet spiked by the saltiness of the white cheese and duck eggs. It has the right softness, making it pleasant to chew. Some people might find the price at P130 a bit hard to justify but, for me, the quality more than makes up for it.
