I’m a fan of sandwiches and their simplicity and how easy it is to prepare and eat. The “Bah Mi” a popular Vietnam dish is a baguette with assorted veggies and meat. Bon Banhmi specializes in the Bam Mi and other Vietnamese cuisines. They are located in San Antonio, Makati. They’re also quiet hidden but with a few asking around and maybe website their bright yellow signage can be spotted when you’re close. Here is my review.Reservation: Like Anthony Bourdain’s show, this place, to my knowledge, has no reservation. It’s just a small place that can accommodate maybe 10- 15 people.Ambiance: Like is said, the place is fairly small that only has 2-3 tables that can accommodate 10-15 people. Although this isn’t a problem for the claustrophobics since their store front is two massive windows for natural light to come and. So yeah, you can breathe easy and enjoy the food.Upon entering the establishment, right of the bat, like a cafeteria, the food is displayed over a counter with glass on it. The walls are painted in yellow so the natural light can bounce of it and make you feel cozy. Room temperature is also alright, not that hot, and not cold. Just the right balance.Service: When I went here I think the owner was the one who was behind the counter. She was actually nice and gave me and friends suggestion on what to eat. The best part here is once you order, since it’s a glass counter top, you can see your Bah Mi being made right in from you. If you’re alone, maybe a good five minutes your sandwich will be done. When you’re in a group may take around 15-20 minutes to prepare everyone’s order.Food: I ordered the Pork Bah Mi, Nem Nuong, and a glass of Artichoke Tea.The Prok Bah Mi was perfect. The bread wasn’t too soft and too hard, Crispy on the outside and soft all the way through. As your teeth passes that bread you’ll either hit the fresh veggies or the juicy pork. Now, the bread isn’t only the one that’s crispy as well as the veggies and the pork. Who doesn’t want crispy pork skin right? The Bah Mi was a crunch overload. Thumbs up for that.Nem Nuong is a Vietnamese appetizer. Here in Bon Banhmi their Nem Nuong is like your Filipino Lumpia. It’s fresh veggies with the crispy pork like the Pork Bah Mi but instead of a baguette it’s wrapped around a thin sheet of something you can eat, since I don’t know what’s it called. It’s perfect for those who can’t get enough of the awesome pork they serve.I washed this all down with their Artichoke tea. They served it to us cold, which was cool. Not sure if they served it hot though. The artichoke tea tasted a bit like the lemon grass tea that I’m used too but this has less sweetness which was just fine.Something to beat the heat. Final Say: Bon Banhmi may be hard to find but once you do this might just be the Holy Grail that you’ve been looking for in sandwich. Despite the small place, what they feed you will leave your stomach full. I’ll definitely be back here for more!

Well, this is really a hidden gem. It's just few meters away from our house and the place opens pretty early. My favorites are their classic and optional bahnmis (roasted pork and beef). I think the best part of the bahnmi is the bread, which you can buy seperately. They also have the butter toast version of it, which is ❤. The coffee is good too even the artichoke tea. So it's a great affordable snack bar in the neighborhood.

Literally only two chairs inside, they sell this artichoke tea with their food. The baguette crackles as you bite it. Creamy pate and tasty meat. I dream of it sometimes. I love Banhmi. My dad brought me here, roughly 2 years ago. I forgot about the place because it is so far from where we live, and I knew Id never be able to come back but we braved Christmas traffic just to have their banhmi. I found out they have branches now. If its your first time to try banh mi and you're thinking about eating one elsewhere (in Manila) forget it, have a taste of Bon Banhmi instead. Its the best. I am happy they opened in more accessible places in Makati. but to date, i haven't been able to come back; i tried one time (I learned that they opened in Landmark foodcourt) but they ran out of banhmi to sell by mid afternoon. So sad. Don't be like me, get your Bon Banhmi now.

Discovered this place 3 years ago and immediately fell in love with their banhmis. Their baguettes are freshly made esp if you come early. And in my case its just a 5min walk away from our place. Ha lucky me!The Traditional Banhmi is my go to and i always ask for extra extra spice since i love spicy foods. 😉 On weekends they offer fresh spring rolls too you just need to be there early tho. You also got to try their Artichoke Tea! So refreshing! Plus plus points to the vietnamese family who works here. They're really friendly and accomodating. oh! and they deliver too! So as of today...no other banhmi for me but BONBanhmi! 😍
