    Fine. This is not a Fast Food Review. Eh ano magagawa ko, hinatak ako ng boss ko dito for lunch (boss sa work, hindi Boss na Misis) Charge to company expense naman eh.  This goes to show na I'm flexible when it comes to food reviews naman no? Toinks. Disclaimer. I'll be blunt with my reviews. Either Pass or Fail, with the pang masa approach. Also, I'm not into fine dining and I am not aware of the nuances of fine dining terms and terminologies eklat. Aight. Let's Go. Ambiance, 4High Ceiling, Sesyal ang dating (like my boss) Consistent Sailor Theme (kasi nga naman seafood place) Malinis ang banyo. Pero..... (talagang may pero) Sobrang dedicated sa theme, may TALABA sa LABABO (in english, there are clams in the basin!) Ok sana kaso parang silang buhay! Imagine, maghugas ka ng kamay, then madaluyan sila ng tubig, magmukhang basa, then biglang parang gagalaw! (on a  practical note, Mahirap din dumura or suminga kasi sasabit sa mga clams) Service, pwede N/AWe were seated, orders were taken, waiting time 11 mins and 26 seconds (oo nag timer ako, bakit ba?) , ate our food, konting sesyalers na kwentuhan, billed out. In short, normal. Kaya Not Applicable. Food, 2Let me explain. I ordered Mackarel Teriyaki, my boss ordered the same, my other colleague ordered wine (Tanghaling tapat, red wine) Mackarel = Tanigue. The presentation was no nonsense, lunch fare, ayan-ang-Kanin-at-Isda mo. Isda nakapatong sa Kanin. Ay may green peas pala yung kanin. Anyway, my idea of teriyaki sauce is malapot na matamis na medyo syrupy yung kulay. The sauce of this ulam is a paled comparison to that. Fine, home-made, store specialty made teriyaki sauce. Pero, sorry, nothing to rave about. The Tanigue is fresh and nicely cooked I'll give you that. Pero nothing to rave about. Sabi ko inyo blunt ako. Price. 2 PHP450 Para sa Kanin + Ulam ??? Seryoso? Di pa kasama drinks. Return factor. Siguro, pero kung libre lang ulit. Dapat nga 2.66 lang total rate, mabait na ako sa 3. Iteykyu.

    I’ve always had this notion that salads should be part of the appetizer. So it was surprising to have their Seared Tuna Salad on their mains section. With those big chunks of well-seared tuna, it probably passed the mark. I liked how the tuna was seared with a deep hue of pink in the middle. It was tender and was the real highlight of the salad. Aside from the main ingredient, this was paired with some beans, cheese, boiled egg and citrus vinaigrette. I tasted hints of sea salt on this one too.And I’ve got sweet potato fever! Haha. Well, I’ve always been biased to this root crop. It’s just so darn good! As for their Sweet Potato Ravioli, it was pretty okay. I did find the ravioli pieces to be a bit thick. The sweet potato filling was good though I wish there was more of it in every piece.They had a different take on their salpicao. Instead of pairing it with rice or having it all on its own, they added some thick egg noodles and spinach. And their Beef Tenderloin Salpicao was good! It was my fave dish for that night. The flavors just burst out from every bite. And yes, the whole combination worked. The beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked well. Though this was not in the theme of the restaurant, still a good choice when dining here.

    Casual dining with quality good food. Bait's is a fun comfortable restaurant with excellent service. Though price point isn't as casual as the atmosphere is, but I think that's the beauty of it - you pay the price of quality good food without the feeling of being in a fine dining atmosphere. Other than the flowery plates that I don't feel is necessary, everything else is superb. The burrata was my favorite so far. While I wasn't able to try their tasting menu (because they only serve it on weekends), I think I might come back really soon to try it. Looking at the 9 course menu and the price point - it's really quite reasonable. I'd have to make a separate entry for that!

    Finally made it to Bait's on the third instance, after making way to Sprouts first and then to Sabao. Though the food appears to be a bit pricey for the portions that they serve, I wasn't really disappointed with the taste which was something to be thankful for. Crab salad was so fresh and different, loved it. Tuna tartares was manageable while I simple adored the dessert Butterscotch Pots De Creme. The caramelised part was yummy and the gooey texture of the dessert quite amazing; the cookies were so powdery soft that a bite made it fall and made me wonder how on earth they could get it on the plate. Staff was just lovely and helped in choosing the ideal portions for a single person.

    The staff and management team are amazing! Very accommodating and service is always superb! We held our company christmas party here and we had so much fun! You should try their chicken skin nachos, absolutely delicious! Dishes are very flavorful and you should also check out their daily specials. The best part is Bait's partnered with Keg who offers drink-all-you-can whisky & amaretto sour every monday and mojito every tuesday.
