My thai friend says the food is excellent. I suppose it is true. Indeed this thai food is pretty authentic and tastes great. That the main point after all in a restaurant. Pretty similar to People Palace in this respect but the service is less nice although still acceptable. Tried seafood soup and duck salad. Both are worth trying. Wine wine is spanish and rather expensive but also good. I like the decor and the quiet atmosphere. Worth trying.

After an inordinate amount of planning, procrastinating and subsequently rescheduling I have finally had the pleasure of dining at Azuthai. My curiousity about anything associated with Thai cuisine has created this monumental build up for the visit and though it was not the magnum opus I thought it would be, I wasnt disappointed. The first thing I noticed is how elegantly designed the interiors of the restaurant is. Ambiently lit and sophisticatedly ornate with Thai themed pieces and artifacts you can really feel the elegance and pomp that comes with the price tag you pay for your meal. Although not the sprawling establishment one has imagined, Azuthai maintains its spacious distancing of tables creating that intimate dining feel you would want on a special date night. Their version of Thai cuisine is a tad bit subdued compared to People's Palace or Benjarong. The subtleness of the hints is not due to the lack of condiments but rather the exceptional blending of flavors that happens during preparation.Except for the Tom Yum, which is unapologeticaly raw and powerful (I love how spicy and sour it is), no other dish had the earthy and herby contrast that traditional Thai dishes would normally have. The Pad Thai for one had all the subtle hints of cilantro, peanuts and thai fish sauce, blended into a symphony flavor of texture that would make you want more with each morsel. The pandan chicken was prepared more or less in the same way, injecting the tender and most chicken with deceptively addictive flavor of lemon grass. The sticky rice also had the under the radar hints of cocunit milk and milk that fused well with the sticky rice forging a palate pleasing dessert. Overall, though I wouldnt rank Azuthai higher than Peoples Palace or Benjarong, I would put it in its own special place of being that go restaurant if Im in the mood for Thai food that is a little subdued but still authentic.

We had their crispy duck salad and their Tom kha gai to start, the duck salad was a pretty small serving, but it tasted good. The duck might have been better if it was a little less crisp, but overall it's good. Their dishes are generally good, though I don't know if any particular thing stands out as extremely notable. Their pad Thai is good, their curries are good though they could stand to be a bit thicker, their Jasmine rice is perfectly cooked and is a joy to eat. This is a solid albeit upscale Thai place that you can definitely go to on nice occasions.
