Project Pie has been a favorite of mine especially with their concept of making your own pizza. I recently had the chance to be in a food crawl in SM Southmall's Food Street where Project Pie is included. Since we're all used to making our own Pizza we decided to order their Master Pizzas. The Master Pizza is Project Pie's very own pizza line. These includes their Yin Yang, Kenobi, Woody, Fab Four, Ham;let and Richie. Click on the link below for my blog.Overall, my personal rating to the restaurant isFood: 4Service: - Place: 4Happy Eating, website Day Out

We recently had a food crawl at the Food Street of SM Southmall and one of the restaurants included is Project Pie. Project Pie is an American restaurant chain and the Philippines is to first to have a franchise outside the USA. Their motto of "Everyday Artisan Pizza Custom Built by You" sums up the interesting "build-your-own-pizza" concept that they serve.

Project Pie is an artisan-inspired, create-your-own-pizza place. The "Artisan" term is carefully used to refer to hand-crafted pizza prepared on-the-spot based on your preference. For me it was somewhere in between Shakey's and Gino's. Its great for people looking for a quick bite but better quality food than fast-food chains. There's one price for the make-your-own pizza (P285) and as starters, you can choose from 7 pre-set pizzas and you can add toppings of your choice. In our case, we ordered 6 master pizzas:1. Richie (pepperoni, Italian sausage, crumbled meatballs, mozzarella, garlic, signature red sauce)2. Kenobi (pesto artichoke, red onion, tomato, feta, mozzarella)3. The Fab Four (gorgonzola, mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, fresh basil, garlic, olive oil, black pepper) 4. Woody (grilled chicken, cilantro, gorgonzola, mozzarella, sliced red onion, BBQ sauce) 5. Hamlet (prosciutto, caramelized onions, mozzarella, parmesan) 6. Yin Yang (roasted broccoli, roasted corn kernels, prosciutto, parmesan, olive oil, mozzarella, red onion) When it comes to pizza, there’s not much one can do in terms of innovation. You know, pizza is pizza. Its basically meat/veggies on dough. While you can vary the toppings, control the thickness or thinness, and perhaps insert some cheese or processed meat in the crust, the options are a bit limited. It’s still meat on dough. The experience of having to make your own pizza separates Project Pie among others. Here, you can be your own chef. Use your imagination and come up with your best pizza. My favorite would have to be Kenobi and Fab Four. I know its not my own creation but with the term they used (master pizzas), I was sold. Plus dessert pizzas? Who can say no to that? We wont pass on the chance to try their Banana Nutella pizza. Yum! Verdict: When you think about it, P285 is a steep price to pay for a 9-inch pizza for one. But what gives Project Pie the right to charge that high is the quality of their ingredients and, of course, the fact that you can always have a little bit more bacon/cheese and a little bit less onion. Cant wait to be back to make my very own pizza creation!
