As Provincial Capitals move, Maasin Thus. Leyte is small city provincial. You can find no attractions, few dining places, little entertainment and also the Metro Hypermarket and Citi Equipment supply chains don't function. So it was a significant thrill to head into the Ciudad Cafe & Barwhere it looked, sounded and felt like one have been transported right to Remedios Circle in Malate, City of Manila! (Ciudad means town and is pronounced sue-dad) Here you obtain a designer design blacked-away warehouse ceiling, unpainted cement floor, ceiling-high windows, walls murals strategic lighting and feeling music; all complimented by way of a selection of ceramic and wood topped tables featuring higher and low design seating. There is a good deep leather sofa, ala The Mentalist, that could put Friends to shame and true off-street parking for 8-cars! This aptly named Cafe and Bar includes a great collection of hot and cold Cafe beverages and a Bar that appears like real cocktails could possibly be made behind it. Nevertheless there is just the most common anemic local selection of beers and wines, therefore definately more work is required there. The Menus categories are Pasta (3 choices), Rice Toppings (3 choices), Appetizer Chows (8 choices), Burgers (5 choices), ALL DAY LONG Breakfast (mostly Filipino, 5 options), faithful Sizzling Sisig and an individual Pizza choice. Nearly fine dining and not at all for the vegetarian collection. But a good selection of dishes ideal for an American or Filipino palate. The Burgers seem instead expensive, but almost every other meals are competitively priced. My poultry fingers with several french fries was new and very hot and my coconut & pandan shake was natural and tasty. Check selecting made-in-home salsa (but Nachos are usually neither on the menus nor on the market. Ha, ha). Ciudad Cafe & Bar: strongly suggested (Maasin needs a lot more such ambitious enterprises and because of this someone to thrive... so overcome there and spend, invest, spend).
