Their staff was very accommodating and their Crispylog was the best breakfast I had so far. However, their Lava Cake was a little bit too sweet for me to crave for more. Still, 'twas worth spending. Was here for a website meet-up and the desserts were great! We had the chocolate chip lava and smores lava and both were really good. If you had tried the original lava and find it too sweet, the chocolate chip lava is good for you 😊 There are more interesting sweets too! One surprising cake was the Reese's, which was teally something new and the Banana nutella cake which eas really awesome! They served it hot so it was really good 👍🏻

After finishing up an errand at the SM City Cyberzone recently, my wife and I decided to have lunch at Lava by Fudge. We thought it was the opportune moment for us to check out their meals here, having previously sampled desserts only at their other branches. An enthusiastic "Lunch Is Served" sign posted outside this little corner spot was our cue to step right in and explore what Lava has to offer.I love Lava's set-up - it is casual and unpretentious. The space may not be huge but it perfectly sets the tone for a relaxing and laid-back interlude of eat, talk, listen, laugh, eat some more. The wait staff was proactive and attended to our needs fairly well. The background music - 80s New Wave tunes - was a real blast from the past. Now, on to the best thing: the food. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs (Php 360) while my wife had the Korean Beef Stew (Php 290), both sets served with plain white rice. The Baby Back Ribs was one of the best-tasting ribs I've ever tried. The pork ribs, glazed all over with smoky-sweet-savory barbecue sauce, was amazingly tender. Lightly touch the well-seasoned meat with even just a spoon and it falls right off the bone. Yes, the proper utensil for cutting meat would be a knife, but hey, who needs a knife when you're having meat as tender as these? So insanely good were the saucy, juicy ribs they brought me to the verge of ordering an extra cup of rice! The Korean beef stew, on the other hand, was a revelation. I must admit Korean cuisine is foreign to my taste but after having a few bites of my wife's food, I came to a satisfying conclusion: This exotic beef dish and my taste buds have officially become new buddies. The well-simmered, tender beef meat balanced by the spicy, faintly sweet, reddish-brown broth was aromatic and lip-smackingly good! For dessert, we had the Reese's Cake (Php 125 per slice), another worthy addition to Lava's delectable dessert collection. I admire the ingenuity behind this concept: combining two of my favorite sweets - Chocolate and peanut butter - in one incredible combo. If these two sweets were a couple and had a baby, the Reese's cake would absolutely be the by-product of their union. It's creamy, buttery and not overly sweet - everything I want in a really good cake.An interesting trivia about the cake: According to Augie Lontok, Fudge's proprietor, the cake is named after Reese's - his favorite chocolate. He further revealed (via email) that the garnish perched delicately atop the cake is the real thing: a half-size Reese's Peanut Butter Cup - a popular American candy produced by The Hershey Company.Someone once wrote that good things come in small packages. I genuinely believe that this quote exemplifies our Lava experience in the best possible way. We'll definitely be coming back.

If you think you have savored every delightful and mouthwatering desserts at Fudge, then you’re wrong. Fudge has another brand for their enchanting sweets and they call it Lava by Fudge – inspired by their all popular dessert Lava Cake. Lava by Fudge is brought about because the Lontok couple have always been invited to different places to bring their restaurant brand. Not all the desserts that you have tried at Fudge are present at Lava or vice versa.

The original lava cake took 20mins to prepare which is supposed to be already cooked and just requires heating up. They do not serve ice wAter, so we ordered bottled water. They cannot serve my iced latte because they run out of ice. So we ordered only hot cafe latte. When asked for a wifi password, the server told us she does not have the password. We even heard other customers sitting in front of us, complaining of the preparation time of the lava cake and on the wifi. Anyway, This is the second time we visited this place, but we will, definitely, not come back again.
