I'll make this review short. My family and I had to wait for all our orders to be served. If you're not willing to wait for more than 15 minutes for your food, might as well choose another place to dine in.

Excellent service. The food was served timely and the crew are accommodating! Delicious Filipino foods as well. Highly recommended for family dinners.

Golden Cowrie is one of those classic Cebu restaurants that you kinda just have to visit now & then. Famous for their seafood offerings and serving sizes perfect for big groups, Golden Cowrie has expanded over the years. They have gone as far as opening an affiliate restaurant under the name Hukad, which is also doing well. Now, we see branches dotting Lapu-lapu City, continuing its' popularity to nearby provinces and even reaching Manila. We entered their SM Cebu branch, after being disappointed by Zubuchon (they ran out of lechon. Say it with me: whuuuut). Always avoiding the crowd, we had lunch at 4pm, therefore we were treated to a relaxed atmosphere inside the resto. We heard their usual spiel about the specials and how to call the staff with a push of the button. On to the food!!!I had to order the Baked Scallops-- my favorite dish from GC. I succeeded in stopping myself from ordering a second round. I like how fresh this tastes-- so simple and cooked to a T. Highly recommend this dish on your visit.We also had the sizzling gambas, which was treated differently because of the egg that enveloped the serving. It was different, but still a likeable dish with a spicy hint from the onions & peppers. Lastly, we tried the lechon belly, another bestseller from their lineup. I liked it but it only left me craving the Cebu lechon I set out to eat in the first place. Still, you will have to stop yourself from ordering extra rice. 😂I think I would suggest one of their stand alone store if you want to try GC. This branch looked and felt like a fast food place. It was dark and drab, though generally clean. Staff were friendly and food was served promptly, though. But, I had a nicer time at one of their bigger stores because of the ambience.
